A welcoming mountain hotel with a focus on sustainability is the setting for this bright and lively restaurant which, at lunchtime, serves local traditional dishes inspired by the recipes of Marija Plesnika, who cooked here in the 1940s. In the evening, on the other hand, guests are served a tasting menu which is available only by booking ahead for anyone not staying at the hotel. In the kitchen, experienced Janez Bratovž, renowned for his work at the JB Restavracija in Ljubljana, is here in an advisory role, while the talented young Tom Čopar who has experience both in Slovenia and abroad is

The fine alpine house that is home to the restaurant stands at the end of the Jezersko valley, just steps from the Austrian border. Here one breathes fully the Central European atmosphere that draws visitors to places of such character: imposing mountains and limpid streams frame a landscape of great appeal. In the kitchen, a young chef offers a straightforward cuisine deeply rooted in the territory. Trout and venison are constant presences, alongside excellent local beef, at times served with a delicate sweet-and-sour beetroot rose. Whether one chooses from the à la carte menu or entrusts the

The result is an immersive introduction to the Luče region, thanks to the early spring vegetables, excellent cheeses and delicious autumn mushrooms that feature on the menu. Whatever the season, the menu changes daily and guarantees an authentic dining experience with a strong local flavour. Don’t miss the trout from the River Savinja served with vegetables from the kitchen garden. Young Filip will b

In the heart of the Gorenjska region, at Predoslje near Kranj, Gostilna Krištof embodies the long hospitality tradition of the Bolka family, updated with intelligence yet faithful to an atmosphere that is warm and genuine. The cuisine unites local roots with contemporary sensitivity, celebrating territorial ingredients such as Krškopolje pork, Carniolan sausage, and farmed trout. The recipes, inspired by tradition but reinterpreted through modern technique, change with the seasons.
