The Pago de Carraovejas wine estate (Ribera del Duero), guarded over by the iconic Castillo de Peñafiel, has built its prestige around wines teeming with personality. The same philosophy applies to Ambivium, a dining space created to ensure the same harmony and end result. Featuring cutting-edge designer detail, splendid service and idyllic views of the vineyards from the bar, the restaurant conjures up exquisite dishes that you can enjoy while admiring this glorious setting. Chef Cristóbal Muñoz offers a tasting menu (Cellarium: Inheritance and legacy) on which everything revolves around food

Taller is located at the prestigious Arzuaga bodega, where the worlds of wine and gastronomy go hand in hand. It’s possible to enhance your experience via a variety of activities (tastings, wine sessions, visits to the Finca La Planta to view its deer reserve) and even a chance to meet famous designer Amaya Arzuaga who makes an appearance here as often as she can! Access to the restaurant is via an interactive and highly surprising corridor-tunnel which leads to a cutting-edge dining room with views of inside the bodega, Taller’s attractive external surroundings, and everything that goes on in

In the centre of La Granja, opposite the post office and just a few minutes' walk from both the Royal Palace and its beautiful gardens. Its name (translation, The Foundry) is not a trivial detail, as it is located inside a building with a long history that provided both the Royal Palace and the old hospital with its plumbing. Today, after some great interior design work, it is set out with several spaces of unique ruggedness: the bar, the main dining room where the forge used to be, the terrace-patio of the infirmary... What does it offer? À la carte service (we particularly liked the oxtail r

A bright, contemporary restaurant on the first floor of the bodega of the same name, one of the best known in the Ribera del Duero wine region. Here, in a dining room boasting stunning views of the surrounding vineyards, savour cuisine with a contemporary touch on two tasting menus, both of which pay plenty of attention to presentation and the use of seasonal ingredients. Wine tours (prior booking required) and shopping in the on-site boutique add to the experience here.

It is said that “those who search, will find” and based on this mantra, the young couple at Curioso appear to have found their own paradise! This restaurant, close to the famous Plaza del Coso, offers an attractive market-inspired à la carte featuring an updated take on traditional dishes. This is complemented by the Curioso tasting menu, on which you can savour dishes such as lamb trotter gyoza, venison bolognaise with fresh pasta, and croissant with oxtail and a bearnaise sauce.

If you are looking for the best rice dishes in Segovia, in Torrecaballeros, about 10 km (6 miles) northeast of the city of Segovia, you will find some that dazzle the palate. And no wonder, the couple at the helm (Antonio Sinsaez behind the stove and Begoña Danvila patrolling the dining areas) are originally from the city of Turia and he, specifically, finished in the top five in the world in the Concurs Internacional de Paella Valencia de Sueca (2023 edition). Located next to the San Nicolás de Bari church in the impressive setting of a restored 16C posthouse. In its delightful dining rooms with a welcoming rustic ambience, enjoy hearty Castilian cuisine featuring top-quality grilled and roasted meats – the latter ever-present on the menu. The Segovia suckling pig is without doubt the star dish here, although you can also pre-order delicious lamb and goat. Full-day food events dedicated to offal are also organised from time to time.

If you’re visiting Aranda de Duero and its impressive network of underground wine cellars featuring over 4km of galleries, this centrally located restaurant could be a good option to revive your energy levels. Featuring a tapas section by the entrance and a dining room to the rear (the latter featuring a view of the wood-fired oven), Aitana has a reputation for its red meats and seasonal vegetables, although the menu also includes mouthwatering IGP Castilla y León baby lamb (prior ordering required). The à la carte is complemented by the Ribera set menu.
