Husband-and-husband team Tam Pham and Harrison Ramhofer are throwing a party on their own terms. On the edge of downtown by the county courthouse, you won’t find a glamorous room, a DJ booth, or anybody in stilettos or designer sneakers. There is no bouncer by the door. Instead, come as you are for this celebration of Vietnamese cooking that started out as a supper club. Much of the food doesn’t require silverware: Think wings glossed in fish sauce caramel, smoky lamb with lettuce wraps and banh hoi noodles, and tamarind-glazed pork ribs. Finish with a slice of cheesecake made with cultured ca

True to its name, this favored counter is indeed hidden in the thick of busy Wynwood. The front door is not easy to find and slides open only with a time-sensitive passcode. But beyond the hustle and bustle, Chef Seijun Okano offers a mature, finely tuned omakase for the fortunate few seated at his counter. Fish flown in multiple times a week from Japan are handled with precision, sliced carefully and pressed into lush, vinegar-tinged rice that he makes at the start. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions and drink freely. All the while, the team works in perfect tandem, delivering a well-pac

What started out as a little shipping container in 2017 has morphed into this brick-and-mortar hot spot in Little Havana. There is almost always a line of diners vying to squeeze into the narrow space, designed with emerald-green walls, vibrant tile and sleek brass trimmings.Everyone comes for the same thing: a superb Cuban sandwich featuring pork butt that's been marinated for a week in garlic and spices, then pressed between expertly grilled slices of house-made bread. A heavier but equally flavorful alternative is the lechon, starring tender shredded pork slathered in garlic-cilantro aïoli.

Dressed head to toe in concrete and lit with candles, this narrow room in Little Havana is out to make a mark. The staff totals less than five, including Chef Juan Camilo Liscano and his sous who cook, plate and clear with impressive efficiency. The lean team, however, turns out a stylish and agreeably priced tasting menu that changes with great frequency; sit at the counter to enjoy the full experience. Grilled baby corn brushed in burnt eggplant aioli and wrapped in aged sirloin is a thrilling start, followed by delicately steamed flounder enrobed in a smooth sabayon made of mussels. Brioche

From Austin, Texas to Brooklyn, New York, Pitmaster Bill Durney brings his signature barbecue to Magic City. Just like the original location, Durney has built this warehouse-chic space amidst a sea of industry in the Miami Produce Center, where trucks and moving pallets roam the streets. The sheer scale of the space—open kitchen on one side, a long bar on the other, tables in between and a patio just beyond—is something to behold.A hulking beef rib crusted with salt and black pepper, as well as melting, charred slices of brisket are essential orders that have few equals outside of Texas. Miami has joined the ranks of Paris and Tokyo with its own on-brand and elegant L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon. The Design District setting bears all the beloved hallmarks with a counter and open kitchen plus rosewood walls and leather chairs. Two tasting menus and an à la carte are available, with Robuchon's classics remaining. The bread basket is a lovely opener, arriving in advance of such thrilling bites as seared scallops in a vibrant cilantro broth with coconut foam and a piece of crispy calamari. Lamb topped with eggplant caponata and served in fairytale eggplant cups is executed perfectly,

Of Jewish and Latin descent but born and raised in Miami, Chef Michelle Bernstein is intrinsic to the city's culinary scene. For this concept in Little Havana, she teams up with cocktail guru, Julio Cabrera, and the result is extraordinary. It's a vivacious place that hums with live music and a décor that transports guests through decades of history—from Cuba to the Cuban experience in Southern Florida. The menu features such classics as lechon with steamed yuca and tangerine mojo. Specials may deviate from the norm but are exquisite in their sweet and savory blend—think seared foie gras paired
