Review

Guest scores & sentiment

From 75 guest reviews · multi-source · as of 2026-07-22

Guests consistently praise the exceptional location between Ipanema and Copacabana beaches and the friendly reception staff. However, numerous reviews highlight significant issues with apartment maintenance, including worn-out furnishings, poor-quality or stained bedding and towels, and unpleasant odors. Unannounced construction noise and inconsistent housekeeping further detract from the stay, resulting in a mixed experience that falls short of expectations relative to the price.

Oseille

Modern Cuisine, Creative · ★ Michelin

$$$$

Fortunately, there are still restaurants that exist with a strong family lineage – and Oseille is a perfect example. Run by chef Thomas Troisgros (son of Claude Troisgros, grandson of Pierre Troisgros and nephew of Michel Troisgros), it is located in the heart of Ipanema, right above the Toto restaurant (also part of his stable). Here, in a minimalist space that stands out for its profusion of wood and the prominence of a 16-seat “U”-shaped counter with a kitchen in the middle, guests can enjoy a heightened fine-dining experience through a unique, and modern-inspired tasting menu divided into

Didier

French Contemporary · Bib

Located in Ipanema, Didier boasts a modern, vibrant feel with a dining space on two floors bathed in plenty of natural light. Under the baton of chef Didier Labbe (after whom the restaurant takes its name), the cuisine here embraces the essence of French cooking in tandem with local ingredients. The menu comprises a tempting selection of delicacies to satisfy every palate, ranging from classic French dishes and iconic bistro classics such as snails, steak tartare and duck magret to grilled octopus alla putanesca. Those looking for a more traditional flavour will find refuge in the “risotto ner

Mee

Asian Influences · ★ Michelin

$$$$

If you’re looking for an Asian dining experience close to Copacabana beach, make sure you book a table at Mee, an excellent option within the walls of the “Copa” (Copacabana Palace hotel). In this elegant restaurant where modernity and exoticism combine together harmoniously, the focus is on pan-Asian fusion cuisine that takes the tastebuds on a gastronomic journey to discover the flavours of Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Japan, Singapore etc. Chef Alberto Morisawa was born in São Paulo but his family origins are in Madara Shima (Nagasaki, Japan), hence the dominant influence of Japanese cooki

Pici Trattoria

Italian · Bib

Located opposite the Praça Nossa Senhora da Paz, where the large windows at the entrance will definitely attract your attention thanks to the list of restaurants across Italy from which this trattoria takes its inspiration (such as the Enoteca Pinchiorri and Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana). The enticing cuisine here is at times high on tradition with plentiful portions. On the impressive menu you’ll find standout dishes such as the mouthwatering fettuccine with a truffle and mushroom sauce and free-range egg, and the unmissable Wagyu polpetone filled with mozzarella di bufala and served

Maria e o Boi

Traditional Cuisine, Meats and Grills · Bib

If you’re keen to try a restaurant serving authentic Brazilian cuisine prepared with ingredients from across Brazil, this rustically inspired house with a plethora of wood and a pleasant outdoor terrace on a charming corner of the Ipanema neighbourhood could be the perfect place. Here, chef Vanessa Rocha conjures up cuisine that brings a smile to your face and warms the heart thanks to superb cuts of meat accompanied by harmonious and balanced combinations of ingredients. The menu offers a range of generously portioned and affordably prices dishes, making it difficult to choose between the att

Koral

Modern Cuisine · Bib

Just a few metres from the Nossa Senhora da Paz park, in the heart of Ipanema, there is a restaurant that keeps winning new devotees — and with good reason, as it has Pedro Coronha at the helm, considered one of the most outstanding chefs on the contemporary Brazilian culinary scene. His credentials speak for themselves: he trained at some of the world's great establishments — in both Lisbon and Copenhagen — and has been recognised as one of the most promising young chefs in all of Latin America. In its dining room, with its modern feel and open kitchen, you can savour a cuisine that, without

Oro

One of those restaurants that every food-lover should get to know! The rapport formed between chef Felipe Bronze and sommelier Cecilia Aldaz works wonderfully well as can be witnessed in every single detail. In this charming and elegant restaurant one block from Leblon beach, the cuisine is a fusion of Brazilian roots and cutting-edge technique. This is reflected in the Afetividade and Criatividade menus (with two and four main courses, respectively) which pay homage to the different regions of Brazil. At the counter in front of the kitchen, with seats for just four guests, you can appreciate

San Omakase

Japanese · ★ Michelin

The specific feature of this small (just eight seats at the counter) but elegant restaurant on the first floor of a shopping centre in the heart of Leblon is its honest homage to Japanese cuisine, which goes beyond culinary concepts in order to teach us more about the country’s culture. Here, good hospitality is a key tenet, so you’ll be welcomed at the door with a glass of sake, while those with little experience of Japanese dining will be given explanations on the preparation process and the special characteristics of the Omakase menu.
