VENICE SUITE DORSODURO

Set between quiet, narrow streets, the gate opens onto Palazzo Venart, one of Venice's most exclusive residences. This hotel has two gardens, one at the entrance and the other overlooking the Grand Canal, where guests can enjoy coffee and little cakes at the tables on the main floor of the building as a very elegant alternative. Meals, on the other hand, are served in a room where the papered walls tell the story of the Silk Route. The gastronomic journey at Glam is in the skilled hands of Donato Ascani, resident chef at the multi-starred Bartolini. Ascani's talent shines brilliantly in two ta

Il Quadri showcases traditional Venetian dishes interpreted with a contemporary twist by chef Sergio Preziosa, who focuses on ingredients from the lagoon, such as fish from its shallow waters, vegetables from SantʼErasmo island, shellfish and game in season. Ask the staff for wine recommendations and you’ll discover some unusual labels on the extensive and varied wine list, such as the Adega do Vulcão Ameixambar, a white wine from the Azores with mineral notes and great flavour – the perfect accompaniment to the rich, tasty cuisine served here.

Housed within the Hotel Cipriani, one of Venice’s legendary hotels which is pleasantly located in a tranquil corner of Giudecca island, the round-shaped dining room at the Oro Restaurant boasts views of the lagoon and the lido. Here, chef Vania Ghedini from Ferrara serves an array of Moroccan dishes which bear witness to her professional past. Her Laguna dish is particularly striking thanks to its skilfully mixed flavours and delicate textures. The tasting menu is equally impressive and offers a good introduction to the chef’s cuisine, including dishes from the lagoon alongside a few light veg

Modern and minimalist, with an open kitchen, Local is one of the best and most exciting restaurants in Venice, the result of the synergy between the extremely friendly owner, who works front of house, and talented chef, Salvatore Sodano. With a 7 or 9-course tasting menu, it is an experience not to be missed! Extraordinary wine cellar with almost a thousand labels, most of them Italian.

Located in the slightly more secret part of Venice, this is a place we can highly recommend. It has a relaxed and informal atmosphere reminiscent of a wine bar, and the food is excellent, whether you choose meat or fish, with many dishes that will be remembered for a long time, thanks also to an excellent selection of around 700 ecologically sustainable wines.

Situated behind the Guggenheim museum, this rustic restaurant with wood panelling on the walls offers a meat-based menu that focuses on traditional, regional cuisine (the braised rack of lamb with spinach tortino with butter and parmesan cheese is superb). The well-stocked wine cellar is home to a huge selection of white, red and sparkling wines, plus there’s an extensive choice of cocktails. At Ai Gondolieri, enjoy a good glass of wine accompanied by typical Venetian fare such as cured hams and sweet-and-sour vegetables.

Although the setting and convivial atmosphere in this restaurant recall that of a typical Venetian bàcaro , the cuisine is completely different in feel. The ingredients are sourced from the best markets and local producers, resulting in unique dishes that reflect the culinary traditions of the lagoon and its surrounding area. The few tables arranged outdoors with views of the tranquil canal add to the appeal, while the professional yet friendly service helps to put guests completely at ease.
