Although tucked away along a narrow street in the historic quarter of the city, this restaurant (part of a 17C seminary that has been superbly converted into the Convent de La Missió hotel) comes as a delightful surprise. In its meticulous modern interior, featuring brightly lit spaces with a minimalist feel and a pleasant patio-terrace, discover the cuisine of Marc Fosh, the first British chef to be awarded a Michelin star on Spanish soil. His culinary philosophy brings together flavour, technique and creativity and highlights, through simply constructed yet sophisticated combinations, the se

Located amid the attractive surroundings of Palma’s cathedral, on the ground floor of the attractive El Llorenç Parc de la Mar boutique hotel. In the elegant, contemporary style dining room, chef Santi Taura demonstrates his passion for traditional Mallorcan cuisine, taking everyday recipes from the islands and bringing them up to date, using native ingredients and prioritising flavour over and above anything else. He presides over a single tasting menu called Origens (11 courses, although another three courses can also be added) which changes in line with the seasons and takes us on a journey

Fernando Pérez Arellano’s legendary Zaranda restaurant continues to delight the senses in Palma’s old quarter, within the walls of the Es Princep luxury hotel (a Michelin Key recipient), but with a separate entrance. It stands above the remains of a former tannery, playing with the origins of the site and the lexicon to invite us to enjoy evocative experiences in different rooms (Guild Hall, Saddler's Corner, Tanner's Dining Room, etc.): A flor de piel (12 courses, in 3 spaces) and Plena flor (18 courses, in 3 spaces). There are interesting pickled options as appetisers, all of them with nods

This highly original eatery, with its attractive and informal bistro-style ambience, is the fiefdom of Brazilian-born chef Gabriel Conti. He arrived in Palma having spent many years working in Barcelona, which enabled him to acquire a rucksack full of different culinary experiences and expertise, which he now highlights, in particular, in dishes prepared on the grill. If you decide to eat at one of the four seats at the bar counter, the chef will be happy to share the secrets of his dishes with you step by step.

In the heart of Palma’s old quarter, just a few metres from the Convento de la Concepció after which the street is named, you’ll come across this rustic-style eatery with lots of character, thanks mainly to its restored natural stone walls. It features two distinct dining spaces: one overlooking the kitchen for a more authentic experience, plus the pleasant main dining room. The à la carte dining format here is based around the Mediterranean with the occasional global touch, ably supported by seasonal suggestions and fish of the day options. Having tried the grilled wild turbot we can safely c

A restaurant that is as original as it is stylish, usually full and always meets with expectations. Located in the heart of Palma, overlooking the bed of the Torrent de Sa Riera canal, it boasts a welcoming, bistro-style ambience with attractive bonuses such as a vertical garden and a pleasant vibe created by the jazz music playing in the background. The owner-chef’s goal is to democratise haute cuisine and showcase cooking full of nuances and variations (including from his native Buenos Aires) with a strong focus on Mediterranean flavours and unequivocal influences from his time working in Lo

Sumaq

A restaurant with a strong focus on flavour and the true soul of Peruvian cooking under the baton of chef Irene Gutiérrez. In the indigenous Quechua language of Peru, “sumaq” translates as “delicious, sumptuous or beautiful”, an apt description for the recipes on the extensive à la carte (which includes a section specifically devoted to ceviches) plus a tasting menu that offers a true culinary flight of fancy. The cod here, Sumaq’s signature dish, is well worth trying.
