Guests consistently praise the charming atmosphere, quiet location, welcoming staff, and inviting common areas, with many enjoying the welcome wine and breakfast. Recurring concerns include the absence of in-room TVs, inconsistent mattress comfort, noise and temperature control issues, and a perceived decline in breakfast and happy hour quality following an ownership change. Some find the facilities dated relative to the price.

peasants FEAST may seem impossible to out-charm its already picturesque Solvang surroundings, but Michael and Sarah Cherney’s daytime café manages exactly that. The sandwich-focused menu remains rooted in seasonality and thoughtful sourcing, with hearty, generously built creations served on excellent local breads from Bob’s Well Bread Bakery. There’s nothing ordinary about combinations like mortadella with smoked provolone and pickled banana peppers, or the “Sophia Loren,” layered with stracciatella, pistachio-basil pesto, hot honey and Calabrian chili aioli on toasted ciabatta. From Daisy Ryan and the folks behind Bell's in Los Alamos, this bright and cheery seafood spot is just down the road in Los Olivos. Slide in to one of the booths or banquettes and settle in for a meal that is an ode to the sea and is best enjoyed with shared plates. There are radishes with sea urchin butter to start and dry aged branzino as main dishes, but put those decisions on ice—literally—and order oysters or crab claws. Beef tartare is given a seafood crown with two fried oysters; add the saffron buns to your order for the perfect complement. Simple and focused desserts include olive oil

Once a popular stagecoach stop in the late 1880s, then an infamous hangout during Prohibition, Mattei's Tavern has now been reimagined courtesy of Auberge Collection. Nestled just outside the charming town of Los Olivos, this place simultaneously reeks of history while feeling decidedly modern. The kitchen delivers on a shared plates, Californian menu that benefits from an on-site garden and live fire cooking. Begin with the braised abalone finished with abalone liver mousse over mushroom confit in white miso butter. Main dishes are large, but be sure to sample wood-fired sides like grilled we

Solvang's charms are not lost on Coast Range, which ups the ante with vintage details inside its multi-concept space. Brunch spot by day, it's a steakhouse tavern by night with a winsome cocktail bar through a separate entrance. The menu leans heavily on the seasons and dishes will change often, but there is plenty to choose from when it comes to mains like wood-grilled seafood and steaks. Potato pierogi with sour cream and peach butter or a fantastic Dungeness crab cake are must-order appetizers. Grilled items are always a sure bet, but don't overlook the entrées like Wagyu stroganoff with ho

After cutting their teeth at top NYC kitchens, Daisy and Greg Ryan settled in the Santa Ynez Valley. Their particular skill lies in blending phenomenal product (90% of products are sourced from within 20 miles), focused flavors and methods. This is cooking that tastes as good as it looks, and crowds keep coming for their unpretentious dishes. Guests are given a choice between three options for three courses and may begin with dishes like their lamb merquez with puntarelle and pickled mushrooms before choosing between mains like halibut roti or steak au poivre.
