La Zanzara
Seafood, Classic Cuisine · ★ Michelin
€€€
In the heart of the Po Delta, a romantically secluded farmhouse on a tiny islet welcomes guests in a suspended atmosphere, amid unspoiled landscapes and surprising wildlife. Before entering, pause for a moment: the silence is broken only by the song of dozens of birds populating the lagoon. In the kitchen, fish reigns supreme, celebrated in classic preparations such as golden-fried seafood and the steamed fish salad with vegetables and house-made mayonnaises – from traditional to an intriguing squid ink version. Eel dishes are a must, including the typical preparation over embers. In season, a

The spaces have been refreshed – simple yet more contemporary – without losing the venue’s authentic soul. The kitchen remains faithful to seafood traditions, offering a sound quality-to-price ratio, now elevated by a more polished presentation. Not to be missed are the raw scampi, delicately marinated with fine shavings of lemon zest, and the turbot baked in a potato crust, an enduring house classic. To finish, fragrant puff-pastry biscuits, served warm with confectioner’s custard. Long a fixture, and still today, a true reference point in the Ferrara area.

La Capanna di Eraclio

Whenever we cross the threshold of Capanna di Eraclio, we are embraced by a rare and wonderful feeling, as if we were coming home. Opened in 1922 and now run by the fourth generation of the Soncini family, time seems to have stood still inn this restaurant, which offers the same authenticity that once transformed the inn into a kitchen. The atmosphere is nostalgic and familiar, understated but enhanced with touches of refined elegance. The aromas of the Po delta inspire a repertoire that celebrates water and land: delicate Goro sole, steamed and served with fresh mayonnaise; maltagliati pasta

In a quiet corner of the center, a small, discreet door opens onto two interconnected dining rooms: modern yet simply elegant. The air is fragrant with Romagna: hand-rolled fresh pasta, tender Swiss chard and ricotta tortelli cloaked in melted butter and Parmigiano, golden oven-baked lasagne, rustic tagliatelle bathed in a richly flavored prosciutto ragù. The main courses are a triumph of taste: tender tongue and succulent cotechino paired with velvety purée and creamy sauces. The finale is sweet and enveloping, with the moist-hearted tenerina accompanied by a small glass brimming with soft, f

Named after the village’s former postman, an important and charismatic character in this small community, this former workers’ club is housed in a rustic restaurant with a beautiful porch where you sit in summer beneath cooling fans. The cuisine steps away from local tradition to offer creative yet never overly fanciful dishes which are always generous and beautifully presented. We particularly enjoyed the mezze maniche pasta with stewed white onion, sour butter and burnt lemon, as well as the leg of guinea fowl browned with paprika, its own juices and horseradish mayonnaise. A restaurant and an inn in a small country village, it’s the right place if you’re looking for hospitality and you appreciate the regional cuisine, made of snails and frogs, but also fish from the nearby sea. Something for every palate.

A small restaurant in the heart of the city, refined and romantic, where soft spotlights cast a gentle glow over the tables, creating an intimate, comforting atmosphere. The flavors are entrusted to chef-owner Bacilieri, who crafts modern, harmonious dishes rooted in seasonality and the freshness of ingredients, spanning both meat and fish. Not to be missed: the dessert course, here it is a true indulgence for the palate. Service, led by a young, passionate team, attends to every detail of the experience with warmth and care.
