In this long-standing family business, the dedication of the Scherle brothers is plain to see. Their modern brand of cooking is strongly influenced by Japanese cuisine. The duo heading up the kitchens, Jörg Scherle and Holger Haag, create cleverly constructed and extremely precise dishes with skilfully integrated contrasts. These come into their own, for example, in the "yellowfin tuna, sakura, black cherry, celery, finger limes, ponzu, koji beurre blanc" with its delicate interplay of tuna, fruit acidity and sweetness. There are two set menus to choose from, one of which is vegetarian, each c

This family-run business in the Hedelfingen district has been renowned for its fine cuisine for many years and is popular with older and younger diners alike. It all began in 1985 with Susanne and Hendrik Schallmeir, and now their son Gabriel and his wife Lia – the second generation – have joined the team. In the small open kitchen, father and son work like a well-oiled machine, upholding Swabian culinary traditions while embracing inspiration from modern international cuisine. Their menu ranges from classics such as Zwiebelrostbraten (braised beef with onions and gravy) and Kässpätzle, to Kal

After driving past seemingly endless rows of vines, you will eventually reach this small vineyard, where a traditional mountain inn has been reimagined as a trendy and modern dining destination. Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase breathtaking panoramic views of the region. There is also a terrace. "Fine Swabian cuisine" is the name of the game at this restaurant, which is run by a young couple – Annika Braun presides front-of-house and her husband, Manuel, is the chef. He mainly uses locally sourced ingredients, following the seasonal availability of produce, and also likes to incorporate eleme

In her tiny restaurant, host Giovanna Di Tommaso (known as Nannina) devotes herself tirelessly to her passion: Italian cuisine. Prepared with fresh high-quality ingredients, her dishes are ambitious and packed with flavour. As well as an extensive à la carte menu, there are three different set menus – one for two or more people and another for four. Delightful terrace to the rear of the building. Practical: The restaurant has its own car park.

€€
This long-standing inn in Stuttgart's Bad Cannstatt district is in one of the area's oldest half-timbered buildings, dating back to the 15C. The setting is cosy and rustic, with lots of aged wood creating a charming, old-world atmosphere. The kitchen is headed by Can Basar, who previously worked at several renowned establishments. The menu includes seasonal and international cuisine alongside timeless classics – the roast beef is a favourite. In addition to an à la carte selection, there is also a four- or five-course set menu.
