Yunico

Japanese, Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

€€€€

The name of this restaurant fuses the Japanese word "yu" and the Italian word "unico", hinting at the food served here. "Yunico" is also a reference to the uniquely high culinary standards they uphold. Situated on the top floor of the Kameha Grand lifestyle hotel, thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows the restaurant affords a fantastic view of the Rhine – a view which is of course even better from the terrace. Then there is the smart, high-quality decor, all done out in red, black and white, as well as the experienced and well-coordinated front-of-house team. Head chef Christian Sturm-Willms

halbedel's Gasthaus

Modern French · ★ Michelin

€€€€

A well-to-do neighbourhood in Bad Godesberg, a Wilhelminian villa with a stylish yellow and white façade, an elegant interior with stucco, parquet flooring and modern touches – the perfect backdrop for Rainer-Maria Halbedel's cuisine. A legend of the German fine dining scene, he started cooking in 1966, received a Michelin star in 1984 at his former restaurant Korkeiche, and has held onto it ever since. He incorporates modern elements into his classic French cuisine and creates harmonious flavour combinations. Only the best produce is used, including eggs from his own hens and vegetables from

A beach house (Strandhaus) right in the heart of Bonn – who would have thought? The delightful maritime decor and laid-back atmosphere transport you to a seaside retreat. Not forgetting the cosy secluded terrace. This is the perfect setting for a Mediterranean-influenced cuisine, with fish at the heart of it all. Using only the finest ingredients, the chef creates flavoursome dishes with a unique twist, available both à la carte and as a tasting menu. As well as fish, there are meat options and a dedicated vegetarian set menu.

Konrad's

Contemporary, Mediterranean Cuisine

€€€

This restaurant on the 17th floor of the Marriott Hotel has the "wow" factor of a great view over Bonn through its floor-to-ceiling windows. In the open kitchens they cook up modern dishes with Mediterranean influences. Pre- or after-dinner drinks are served in the bar right next door. Parking is available in the underground garage, and the lift leads directly to the restaurant.

Theodor's

€€€€

This restaurant in the Beuel district has an inviting, chic and contemporary feel. At the helm are siblings Jana and Fritz Benson, who go about their work with palpable dedication. In the open kitchen, the chef-patron and his team put together a creative seasonal set menu, available in four to six courses, which can be supplemented with optional additional courses. The craftsmanship on display and the quality of the produce impress in equal measure – a case in point is the Dieppe scallops with a fruity, tangy pineapple vinaigrette, finished with a delicate mace-infused foam. Each dish is also

Modern Cuisine, Farm to table

What was once the gardener's cottage at the 18C La Redoute ballroom and concert hall is a feel-good place that has won over more than its fair share of regulars. The restaurant's appeal lies not only in its extremely charming ambience, but also in Matthias Pietsch's innovative take on modern cuisine and the experienced, courteous and cordial service. The pleasant dining area is laid out over two levels, and the terrace to the rear of the building is also a lovely spot.
