Satva Samui Yoga and Wellness Resort

This unpretentious, open-air eatery is a local gem on the island, offering an affordable opportunity to enjoy simple, local dishes in a knockout beach location. The portions are hearty, modestly priced and lip-smacking. One of the highlights is crab coconut milk curry with shrubby basil — rich with the aroma of curry spices and herbs. If you’re not a fan of shrubby basil, you can ask to substitute it with wild betel leaves instead. Each dish is cooked to order, so there may be a wait, but the upside is that everything arrives freshly made, straight from the kitchen. Alfresco dining in a blissf

Koh Thai Kitchen is located on a hilltop within the Four Seasons Hotel. The restaurant's alfresco dining areas sport a rustic style. Diners can enjoy southern and central Thai dishes made with premium ingredients such as local seafood, Australian lamb and Wagyu beef. All of which while breathing in the fresh air as you admire the drop-dead vista of sprawling jungle and blue sea dotted with nearby islands, as you snap the dramatic Instagram-perfect sunsets.

Bang Por boasts an experienced kitchen team composed of local chefs who have worked here for many years. This simple beach-front restaurant is depicted by holiday vibes and Southern Thai seafood fare. The spicy stir-fried squid with herbs is cooked in a spicy curry paste and the grilled fish is sprinkled with mixed Thai herbs. The house shrimp paste is packed with aromatic plants and coconut chili and grilled before serving, hence the pungent aroma.

Prioritising flavour over fuss, this modest spot has championed Thai and Southern Thai seafood for over 50 years. Fresh local catch is cooked to order, delivering bold, soothing tastes in highlights such as black pepper crab, stir-fried prawns and traditional steamed fish. Fairly priced, generous portions thrive in a simple, air-conditioned, no-frills interior, with the Southern yellow curry of giant sea catfish roes and taro stems proving truly irresistible.
