From 76 guest reviews · multi-source · as of 2026-07-21
Guests consistently praise the magical castle setting, peaceful riverside park, warm hosts, and excellent breakfast served in an elegant dining room. The main drawbacks relate to the building’s age: some rooms feel cold or damp, furnishings and amenities show wear, and the remote location requires a car for dining and sightseeing. Overall, the experience is highly rated despite minor maintenance needs.

With its decorative half-timbering that is emblematic of this part of Alsace, the inviting mushroom-coloured building catches the eye from afar. Close to the flower-decked banks of the Brunnwasser, it houses this restaurant, where diners can sample the dishes of Alexis Albrecht, who has worked at some top restaurants (Au Crocodile, the Pourcel brothers and Jacques Maximin). The chef's generous seasonal cuisine makes the most of the terroir and local produce, such as fish from the Rhine and game from the Ried… He also draws on an abundance of vegetables and aromatic herbs from the family's kitc

Chef Nicolas Stamm-Corby strikes the perfect balance between celebrating the classics and adding an inventive touch that hits the mark. Throughout the seasons, he treats diners to high-calibre dishes that spotlight top-drawer ingredients. In winter, for example, the Alsace venison served two ways with grand veneur sauce is a homage to the terroir. The same ambition is palpable when it comes to the desserts – the selection of petits fours (fruit tarts, kugelhupf, cherry financiers, lavender honey madeleines etc) is particularly memorable. Finally, the warm welcome provided by maître d' Serge Sc

Thierry Schwartz - Table Naturelle
Creative · ★ Michelin
€€€€
Thierry Schwartz, who describes himself as an Alsace native by birth and at heart, believes that nature's rightful place is at the centre when it comes to cooking. This ethos is borne out by his commitment to local producers and by his title of Officer of France's Order of Agricultural Merit. To set the scene: think lots of wood, seasonal vegetables on display and a log-burning fire. Thierry concocts three remarkable set menus in which the produce (from Alsace and permaculture) is sufficient in and of itself: pure spelt, arctic char, wild sorrel, organic farm eggs... to be washed down with a f

Part of Hotel Bell Rock, this beacon of gastronomy at Europa-Park is located in a lighthouse. The decor is refined and timelessly elegant – sheer organza curtains in shimmering gold and warm tones lend the circular room an intimate feel and a sense of calm. Seated in stylish armchairs at exquisitely set tables, diners enjoy attentive and adept service provided by a well-coordinated team. Chef Peter Hagen-Wiest presents two eight-course set menus: "Around the World" and the vegetarian "Green Forest". Both reflect his cosmopolitan outlook and, at the same time, his ties to the region. At one corner of this imposing village house, the wrought-iron eagle seems to herald your arrival. In his restaurant within this venerable 200-year-old building, Nicolas Laurent serves modern cuisine with no shortage of finesse. The chef earned his stripes in some of France's top establishments (Le Chambard, L'Auberge de l'Ill, Le Vieux Couvent de Rhinau) and showcases both local produce (La Wantzenau goose foie gras, wild boar from the Ried, Alsace truffles...) and premium items from further afield (eg Cotentin lobster and inshore sole). Regulars will be happy to note that the famous fried carp fillets with horseradish cream are still on the menu.

In keeping with its previous vocation as a joiner's workshop, this place has wood as the main element in the decor, and the Scandinavian-style minimalism extends to the dishes, which are vegetable-forward and local. From the dining area, which has been embellished with a handful of contemporary features, you can see the young, efficient and committed brigade hard at work in the open kitchens laid out behind a counter. The set menus may sport rather enigmatic names (translating as "plant-based beef and carrots", "barbecue in the vegetable garden", "Alsace cruise" or "herby freshness") but the c

Such is the renown of Sylvie Grucker and her son that this pretty restaurant on the wine route is greatly in demand. Sylvie combines traditional recipes with an inventive streak in a bid to showcase regional fare: bacon-flavoured choucroute soup or duck shepherd’s pie, mushrooms and 12-spice sauce, side by side perennial favourites like granddad’s snails, ravioles of carp in a creamy, smoked sauce or Sylvie’s meringue and ice cream extravaganza! Local winegrowers and producers from the village (thirty or so) take pride of place on the enticing wine list.
