Demain
Modern Cuisine, Mediterranean Cuisine · ★ Michelin
€€€€
The magnificent view of the dunes and the North Sea are an integral part of your dining experience at Demain. On the second floor of Strandhotel Cadzand, clean lines and a harmonious blend of wood tones lend the restaurant area a warm and inviting feel. Romée and her team provide charming and attentive service; Dani Hoefnagels and his crew whisk you away on a culinary voyage from Zeeland to the Mediterranean. Before being seated, diners are invited into the kitchen for some amuse-bouches. The passion and skill that go into this operation are immediately apparent. Think super-fresh Dutch hamachi

Spetters
regional · ★ Michelin
€€€
As soon as you enter this lounge-like restaurant, you are greeted by the breathtaking view of the boats bobbing about on the Western Scheldt. Spetters enjoys a prime location between the fish market and Breskens marina – and produce enthusiast Laurent Smallegange could not be happier as he showcases Zeeland's rich bounty, from Eastern Scheldt lobster to Sluis lamb. His cooking style is both creative and unassuming. The dishes are brought to life by international influences and zingy flavours, and the innovative preparation techniques are truly stimulating. Each creation is carefully conceived.

Robbert Dellaert has transformed his childhood home, dating from 1878, into a restaurant with a romantic feel. This is an intimate space with a beautiful garden. Thanks to Julie's excellent service, you can just relax and delight in the love that the chef expresses for his terroir – Zeelandic Flanders. He treats local produce with reverence, and his well-thought-out combinations create a sense of depth. For instance, he enhances ultra-fresh soused herring with avocado ice cream, yuzu gel and sweet and sour daikon. A unique culinary adventure!

Etablissement 1880
Modern French
€€€
Etablissement 1880 is much more nuanced than the black and white that dominate its colour scheme. The charm of the decor and the location on Groede's historic market square make for a cosy setting. For her surprise menu, chef Mariëlla draws on flavours from around the globe and Zeeland produce. With an eye for detail, the creative chef focuses on subtle touches such as zesty garnishes and rich sauces that bind her dishes together. If you wish to extend your stay, book one of the two guestrooms upstairs.

An artisan butcher, Hendrik Dierendonck chose to open the first offshoot of his meat-lover’s establishment in Knokke’s Oosthoekplein. On entering, your eye is first drawn to the refrigerated counter and massive glazed aging cabinet, before it is distracted by the chefs in the open-plan kitchen as they craft outstanding produce that is Dierendonck’s signature. Delicacies such as Oedslach ribeye and tongue of Belgian red cattle are enhanced by subtle side dishes that add a wealth of nuances and refreshing notes. Grilled melt-in-the-mouth Menapii pork cutlet is coated in a creamy emulsion of tarr
