Eating here is lots of fun! The cosy modern decor, the 1970s rock and pop classics playing in the background and, last but not least, the friendly service all play their part in creating a pleasingly laid-back atmosphere. The other major draw is Tom Wickboldt's cooking. He serves a seven-course set menu (two further courses can be added or swapped in) that impresses with its clearly structured and coherent dishes, as well as the quality of the ingredients. Shining examples include the fresh, tenderly confit salmon trout and the perfectly juicy Imperial pigeon breast. The bread, butter and oil

This appealingly lively restaurant is located inside the Marc O'Polo Strandcasino store, just a stone's throw from the sea and the promenade. Modern dishes with both regional and international influences are served in an attractive trendy setting. Tables are laid out on a mezzanine overlooking the store, with some seats offering a glimpse into the kitchen. Service is friendly and professional. During the summer, the terrace outside beckons.

The culinary flagship of the A-ROSA Strandidyll Heringsdorf hotel. From your table in the fourth-floor dining area, which with its glass dome has an elegant modern feel , you can take in the wonderful view over the hotel grounds all the way to the Baltic Sea. The cuisine is classic in its foundations and partly based on regional produce. You are free to put together your own set menu. Friendly and well-drilled waitstaff. Tip: Your aperitif is best enjoyed on the gorgeous terrace.

Right next to Ahlbeck's main church, this cosy restaurant has a charming and down-to-earth atmosphere. The proprietress manages the service with warmth, ease and expertise, while her husband takes care of the cooking. The cuisine is predominantly regional. Both of the three- to five-course menus (one of them vegetarian) and the à la carte options are popular – the decision won't be easy. If you wish to stay on, two holiday apartments are available.
