Luna Mexican Kitchen

Mexican, Regional Cuisine · Bib

Chef/owner Jo Lerma-Lopez's love for food is clear in every morsel that emerges from this kitchen. The name, which means "moon" in Spanish, doubles as an acronym reflecting the team's ethos of "L(local) U(unrefined) N(natural) A(authentic)" cooking. Ingredients are carefully sourced: Rancho Gordo beans, Mary's free range-chicken and house-made staples like chorizo, stocks and sauces all play a role. Fresh tortillas are pressed in-house, and the results shine across the menu, whether in crisp Baja-style fish tacos or sizzling parrilladas served with handmade nixtamal corn tortillas and deeply f

Orchard City Kitchen

american · Bib

Jeffrey Stout has clearly settled in to his position at the helm of this international gem, packed with a crowd of loyal fans, despite its rather modest shopping-center locale. Polished yet casual with a large front bar and patio, a meal here is best enjoyed with a group—so come prepared to max out the menu.Dishes may spin in various directions, but this team won't steer your wrong. Kick off with a cocktail; then tuck into fresh hamachi enriched with avocado-dill purée, persimmon, and deliciously tart sunomono. Garnished with peanuts and served with chili oil, those delicate shrimp-and-pork du

Petiscos

Portuguese, Regional Cuisine · Bib

Petiscos are as much a cultural reference as they are a small snack accompanied by drinks. They're fun and approachable—designed to be shared among good friends and family—so it goes without saying that this spot, complete with a bar, knows how to welcome guests. Authentically prepared dishes highlight the flavors of Portugal and feature imported ingredients. The rustic, home-style cooking includes favorites such as broa, a traditional cornbread, and lupini beans, codfish croquettes and a tender octopus salad that is a meal unto itself. Slivers of braised pig ears are tossed with a lively citr

LeYou

Ethiopian, American

LeYou is an ode to contemporary Ethiopia, where the dining room is filled with tall, leafy greenery, tables are topped with burlap coffee bags tucked under thick glass, and artwork adorns the walls. Dynamic chef/co-owner Aida Taye offers a lighter, unique approach to Ethiopian cuisine, as in a kifto that substitutes lean tuna for beef. Kick off the meal with kategna, an injera toasted to a crisp, doused with chili powder and served with a sour cream/yogurt dip. A vegetable platter includes your choice from gomen, or chopped collard greens; atakilt, a tender stew of cabbage, potatoes and carrot

Steakhouse, Contemporary

$$$

An elegant ambience complements an elevated menu of exceptional steaks and an array of dishes at Chef Jeffrey Stout's newest restaurant, BE.STÉAK.Ӑ, located a minute's walk from his other very popular spot, Orchard City Kitchen. Here, the menu meanders through the Mediterranean before focusing on high-quality and well-prepared steaks and sides. Kicky clams casino substitutes pepperoni for bacon, while rigatoni all'amatriciana delivers another spicy hit, but really, you're here for the meat. Good thing too, since bacon-wrapped filet in a horseradish crema with king oyster mushrooms and finished

Adega

portuguese

$$$$

Adega, Portuguese for “wine cellar," pairs a tasting menu rooted in Portuguese traditions with one of the region’s most extensive collections of Portuguese wines. The kitchen draws inspiration from the global influences that shape Portugal’s cuisine with classic ingredients like sardines, bacalhau and octopus. Dishes may range from delicate seafood preparations to richer meat courses, all presented with contemporary flair. The room itself remains understated and comfortable, allowing the cooking and the impressive Portuguese wine program to take center stage.
