Tekka by Lone

Japanese, International

€€€

Whether you take a seat in its delightful summer garden or beautiful minimalist-style dining room, the Japanese restaurant at the extremely modern Lone hotel provides an interesting blend of Istrian and Japanese cuisine. The techniques and recipes are Japanese, while the ingredients and personalised reinterpretations are from the region. We particularly enjoyed the duck breast with chicory, which was cooked to perfection with crispy skin and accompanied by a creamy umeboshi plum and pomegranate sauce – the perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours.

Riva Lounge

Regional Cuisine, Contemporary

€€€€

Situated within the luxurious “adult only” Monte Mulini hotel, this restaurant with a beautiful terrace serves local cuisine prepared using regional produce alongside a few Asian ingredients – guests choose the number of courses they want from the menu. Careful attention is paid to wine pairing, with an impressive selection of local labels, including sparkling wines and a good choice of champagnes.
