Oizumi Sushi
Japanese, Sushi · ★ Michelin
$$$
Toro nigiri with smoked salmon roe, sea bass sushi, bluefin akami served on a shiso leaf, and even more delicate creations such as spicy tuna on a crispy puffed rice leaf all feature on the menu in this modest eatery that takes its names from the Japanese town of Ōizumi, in Gunma province, home to the biggest concentration of Brazilian immigrants in the country. Here, the only option is a single 16-course Omakase menu that is meticulously prepared with fresh fish of the day, as well as a selection of other species that chef Danilo Maciel matures in a special cabinet in the restaurant to ensure

There are some occasions when we all want to enjoy a special meal and this restaurant within the confines of the luxury Palácio Tangará hotel, an amazing urban oasis surrounded by tropical vegetation in the heart of the Parque Burle Marx, would be the perfect setting. It is overseen by French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten who reigns over a culinary empire made up of over forty businesses. Resident chefs Filipe Rizzato and Neusi Machado offer serious international cuisine featuring contemporary dishes that focus first and foremost on delicacy and pure flavours. Kinoshita
Japanese · ★ Michelin

Located in the quieter Vila Nova Conceição neighbourhood, next to the extensive Parque do Ibirapuera, Kinoshita is one of the most prestigious restaurants in São Paulo as it was a trail-blazer in bringing authentic “kappo” cuisine (“kappo” simply means “to cut and to cook” and is one of the purest forms of Japanese cuisine, to the extent that its chefs are considered true artisans requiring a minimum of 15 years of training) to the city. This attractive eatery, with its exotic feel and lots of greenery on display, features several dining rooms that lead to the main room with a counter around t

A truly unique experience? Here, just a stone's throw from the Museu da Casa Brasileira (MCB), something truly extraordinary awaits — Tuju occupies an elegant three-storey building devoted entirely to culinary pleasure. The main entrance is on the ground floor, where the experience begins with small canapés and where the wine cellar and an interior garden are also to be found; the second floor houses the dining room, arranged around a large open kitchen surrounded by tables, whilst the third floor is home to a sweeping bar with panoramic views. Chef Ivan Ralston, ably supported by a large brig

Nestled in a charming little house in the heart of Jardim Paulistano, it surprises with three interconnected rooms featuring a contemporary Mediterranean décor that plays with whitish tones and understated furnishings. The acclaimed chef Helena Rizzo, who currently works here in a highly successful collaboration with Belgian chef Willem Vandeven, has always sought to deliver a gastronomic experience rooted in coherence. Building on this foundation, the kitchen champions Brazilian produce — claiming that 90% of the ingredients are organic — approaching it with avant-garde techniques and genuine

Ryo Gastronomia

This restaurant has risen like a phoenix with a renovated look that retains its minimalist Japanese essence that connects us with nature. The main focus here is the dining counter (with seating for just eight guests) where the Omakase menu is the star of the show. The counter is complemented by a couple of tables that can serve another 10 customers, and where you can also choose between the tasting and à la carte menus. Chef Edson Yamashita is a master of the Omakase style, showcasing his incredibly precise cutting and slicing skills in front of our eyes (the sushi sequence is a spectacle in i

Brasserie Victória

It is estimated that the Lebanese community and its descendants living in Brazil nowadays is greater than the current-day population of the Lebanon. The first immigrants arrived in the 1880s, consequently, many dishes of Arabian origin became typical Brazilian dishes, such as sfiha and kibe. This brasserie has been serving authentic Arabian cuisine for seven decades, transforming the Victoria into a gastronomic icon in the Greater São Paulo area. Founded by Dona Victória, it has been run by the same family for several generations. The menu offers a wide variety of mouthwatering options such as

If you want to dive into the flavours of Amazonian cooking, this restaurant is an essential stop in the Itaim Bibi neighbourhood! The name Banzeiro refers to the movement of river waters caused by passing large boats and, in this space, it’s represented by the imposing canoe that dominates the room and integrates perfectly into the setting, revealing the region’s authenticity and essence. Chef Felipe Schaedler, known for bringing to São Paulo flavours often unknown in other territories, presents fire-and-ember cooking with ancestral techniques still used in the north-west of the country.
