Le Bristol is the quintessence of luxury, from its spa suites and superb formal garden to its rooftop pool and dining area with Louis XVI furnishings, mirrors, and tall French windows looking out onto the greenery. In the kitchen of the flagship restaurant, Arnaud Faye errs towards minimalism with his light and refined preparations – a purity of flavours that does not preclude generosity in the dishes. The ingredients are of course excellent, the cooking techniques and temperatures flawless; the bread is made on the premises from heirloom wheat varieties, the sauces are light yet highly concen

Le Grand Restaurant - Jean-François Piège

Creative · ★★ Michelin

Welcome to Jean-François Piège's "laboratory of great cuisine", a tiny dining area beneath a sculptural ceiling made up of panes of glass that catch and reflect the light. The chef gives full expression to the scope and breadth of his experience and know-how, executing timeless signature cuisine that finds its source in the annals of French gastronomy (the chef is said to own one of the finest cookery libraries of Paris). There is no carte but a tasting menu that tours the regions of France and revolves around Piège’s "mijotés modernes". This consummate chef demonstrates his creative talent an

Just a well-heeled step from the Champs-Élysées, this restaurant is set in the swish, swanky La Réserve, a 19C Napoleon III-style mansion refurbished by renowned interior designer, Jacques Garcia. The dining room is clad in magnificent materials, such as Spanish gilt leather and Versailles parquet flooring. Jérôme Banctel affirms his distinctive culinary personality with two tasting menus: "Virée", a tribute to his native Brittany, and "Périple", an invitation to travel the world – taking in Japan, as well as Turkey, where the chef discovered the incomparable textures produced by cooking in li

(Temporarily closed for renovations) A stone’s throw from La Madeleine district, Akrame Benallal, a live wire if ever there was, operates in a surprisingly secretive establishment, hidden by a huge coach gateway. A fan of Pierre Soulages’ work, the fashionably trendy, cutting-edge interior is dominated by black, enhanced by a few photos and sculptures… The menu shines the spotlight on first-class ingredients, inventive recipes and carefully crafted dishes; the “carte blanche” menus are a treasure trove of bold surprises.

Creative · ★★★ Michelin

This prestigious Parisian institution housed in an elegant building set in the Jardins des Champs-Élysées has huge windows looking out onto the most beautiful avenue in the world. It is the very epitome of the great French restaurant: the luxurious setting, the culture of beautifully dressed tables, the seamlessly orchestrated service – it all makes for a unique backdrop, fit to showcase gastronomy in all its glory. Chef Yannick Alléno has achieved a real tour de force by stamping his hallmark on the menu from the outset. His cuisine is dazzling and technical, and his jus and sauces (what the

Stéphanie Le Quellec makes no secret of her aim to "deconsecrate haute cuisine" courtesy of a generous gourmet ethos in which each dish tells a story. Her menus, which are comprised of varying numbers of courses, or "acts", may appear simple but every last detail has been endlessly puzzled over and her big-boned sauces are often enhanced by vintage sherry vinegar. Among her signature dishes is an iconic red mullet, the recipe of which she is constantly tweaking. The vibe is casual, both in the kitchen and dining room, and diners are invited to enjoy the present moment to the full. Warm seamles

Contraste

Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

The contrasts come thick and fast at this restaurant, starting with the decor, which sees the original elegance of the location set off by more contemporary details. "Contraste" is also the name of a famous champagne vintage from Anselme Selosse – featured, among others, on the extensive wine list. This is a place where you can savour meticulous, up-to-date, flavoursome cuisine based on the finest seasonal produce and presented in a number of tasting menus, each comprising several courses.

Venturing over the threshold of this iconic historic establishment adorned with its famous carved woodwork by Majorelle is always a treat. Chef Hugo Bourny (who has worked at Marsan, Pic and La Vague d'Or, to name but a few) strives to replicate the house’s Art nouveau decor in his recipes. He rolls out a personal, creative score with a veggie focus, each dish of which is defined by an aromatic, spicy or acidic theme. Crisp, frank, forthright flavours that hit the spot every time.
