Almoraduz

Mexican

This ambitious restaurant has for years set the standard for serious cooking in sunny Puerto Escondido. Open since 2013 by a husband-and-wife team, Almoraduz is Oaxacan at its core but pulls inspiration from all over. The corn tostada with confit pork jowl, creamy refried beans, guacamole and grasshoppers is a worthy order, as is the catch of the day topped with chimichurri, spinach and grapefruit segments. Whether you order a la carte or trust the kitchen with the signature tasting menu, expect attractive presentations and bold flavors. The space is equally inviting with its handsome wood tab

Glou Glou, located at Hotel Casa TO, is a stunning space. Walk the concrete stairs lit by candles at night to arrive at this dining room with a full counter, tables down the center and tiered steps lined with pillows for additional guest seating. The sexy setting is a perfect match for a menu that pulls from Mexican, European, Indian and Asian cuisines and features everything from aguachile, gorditas, roti, as well as fish and pork chops. The shrimp gordita is a perfect starting point before moving on to something from the grilled section, perhaps a Berkshire pork chop served with a salsa a la
