Osteria Bertaina
Piedmontese, Classic Cuisine
€€
Overlooking the picturesque square in the city’s oldest quarter, medieval in origin, the restaurant welcomes guests through the porticoes, leading them into two intimate dining rooms of vintage charm, with frescoed ceilings dating to the early twentieth century. The cuisine delivers on every level: Piedmontese recipes are reinterpreted with a modern, lighter touch without betraying their soul. Among the must-try dishes, our inspector highlights the gobbo cardoon prepared according to grandmother’s family recipe. And if indecision takes hold, trust the advice of the young, energetic and knowled

The Vascello d'Oro, located in the heart of the village linked to the fat ox – the star attraction from November to Easter – has been welcoming guests to its cosy rooms steeped in history since 1887. If you are in company, ask if you can go down to the cellar: here, in the charming “Crota dl'amicissia”, a round table for ten people invites you to share bagna cauda in a warm and authentic atmosphere. The menu reflects Piedmontese tradition with skilfully prepared iconic dishes: creamy Russian salad, meat and vegetable ravioli, “finanziera”, crispy fried delicacies and the inevitable selection o

Marsupino 1901
Piedmontese, Modern Cuisine
€€
Once the village bakery and now a landmark for those in search of authentic cooking, the trattoria Marsupino 1901 tells a family story spanning four generations. Here, tradition remains the anchor: solid, reassuring and sincere cuisine, yet capable of revisiting familiar flavours with contemporary sensitivity and a measured hand. Emblematic of this approach is the hazelnut semifreddo with Marsala zabaglione cooked in a bain-marie, an indulgent, beautifully judged dessert that brings the meal to an elegant close. In the dining room, the welcome finds its ideal interpreter in Luca: professional,

Il Verso del Ghiottone
Piedmontese, Seafood
€€
This restaurant housed in an 18C building has a warm, rustic feel with terracotta, stone and brick decor and black tables with American-style place mats, resulting in a vibrant yet elegant atmosphere where the service is informal and yet also highly professional. The cuisine is inspired by regional recipes which are reinterpreted and given a lighter flavour. There’s no shortage of interesting fish dishes, including the exquisite red shrimp, which is half-cooked, half-raw and served with passion-fruit caramel.
