A haven of peace and tranquility, this beautiful Victorian villa is ideally located in the lovely county of Monmouthshire, South Wales, overlooking the banks of the River Usk. Just a 5-minute stroll away from the picturesque town of Usk, the privately-owned Glen-Yr-Afon aims to offer a relaxing stay in rural South Wales. A traditional Victorian property, no 2 rooms are the same. Each one has its own individual character, style and space. Some rooms even have 2 floors, making them ideal for families. The Glen-yr-Afon has been a family-owned and family-run business since 1974. The hotel’s award-winning Clarkes restaurant serves a choice of light bites and a menu to choose from each evening.

Shaun Hill, the quintessential chef’s chef, has been here for over 20 years and has a great understanding of flavours and balance. His overtly seasonal cooking blends the classical and the modern across dishes that are prepared with a no-frills, yet consistently delicious approach.
