The tail fins of large fish hanging as centrepieces in this charming family-run establishment are a good indication of the kind of food to expect. The sea, which you can see shimmering nearby, is the main source of produce. The uncle goes out fishing, the father takes his place behind the grill, the mother creates sumptuous mezze dishes, and the son provides a warm reception. You might like to start your meal with yoghurt seasoned with red chilli marinated in oil, before moving on to crispy deep-fried calamari and succulent grilled sea bass. A heartwarming place, where you can savour authentic

The narrow, stone-paved streets of Alacati are always buzzing with activity. Tucked away in one such lane is this alfresco restaurant, whose lively atmosphere instantly draws you in. Gökhan Safkan allows Turkish flavours to seamlessly merge with Bosnian influences, creating a heady mix in dishes such as artichokes cooked with onion and garlic in an orange-infused broth, or succulent pljeskavica (Balkan meat patties) and delicately grilled, ultra-fresh sea bass.
