Damini Macelleria & Affini
Meats and Grills, Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin
€€€
You’ll be surprised by the entrance to this restaurant – the door opens into one of the region’s best-stocked butcher’s, delicatessen and general retailer of niche food products. It’s well worth taking time to browse the shelves before making your way to the dining room to the rear, where wine bottles line the walls (the wine cellar is also superb). Meat takes centre stage at Damini, including top-quality meat from the region and further afield. The menu features classic dishes alongside more creative options, plus a few more exotic ingredients.

Run by the same family since 1976, this restaurant is accessed via a steep winding road and yet the many loyal guests who return here time and time again are proof that the journey is well worth the effort. Once here, the warm welcome offered by the whole family, the attractive dining room with a fireplace, and the delicious cuisine all add to the appeal. Showcasing substantial cuisine with a focus on local flavours (the winter menu featuring game dishes and mushrooms is extraordinary), the menu offers traditional dishes that appeal to the eyes and the palate. La Favellina
Italian Contemporary, Creative · ★ Michelin
€€€€
You follow winding roads up into the Lessini hills to get to this small paradise, a rustic setting which is home to an elegant, family-run restaurant where everyone works hard to ensure that you enjoy your evening. Federico Pettenuzzo and his mother are at the helm in the kitchen (the latter responsible for the delicious pastas), while Federico’s brother Riccardo oversees the front of house. The creative cuisine is prepared from ingredients sourced from all over Italy and further afield, with some occasionally original combinations.

You head through a delightful garden to get to this restaurant housed in a room once used as a conservatory for citrus trees in the 18C Villa Perez-Pompei-Sagramoso. Here, the owner-chef serves delicious regional cuisine which he prepares with particular attention to beautiful presentation. He also makes use of extra-virgin olive oil produced in the countryside around Illasi, with a small selection of oils available for tasting, including the restaurant’s own.

Stilla
Contemporary
€€
Run by an enthusiastic and committed young couple who left the big city to restore the family home and transform it into an elegant, welcoming restaurant, Stilla stands in a tranquil location surrounded by vineyards. Here, Silvia creates original, generous and colourful cuisine which is showcased on an à la carte with just a few dishes which change regularly. We particularly enjoyed the freshly seared bonito served with wild spinach, sour cherries and a cherry barbecue sauce. Meals are served on the outdoor terrace in summer. Accommodation is also available in five beautiful yet functional gue

Pizza, Sharing
€€
An iconic pizzeria which has brought Italy’s favourite street-food snack right up to date! With almost 30 years’ experience behind him, Simone Padoan knows how to make difficult things easy: he uses a mix of wholemeal flours and pays meticulous attention to natural leavening processes to create a dough which has a crispy crust yet soft interior. He also focuses on different types of toppings, including fish, meat and vegetables – whether your preference is for traditional or more imaginative pizzas, every option is of the highest quality. A choice of excellent desserts provides the perfect con

La Collina dei Ciliegi
Italian Contemporary, Mediterranean Cuisine
€€€
Situated within the La Collina dei Ciliegi wine estate amid the verdant Valpantena hills, this first-floor restaurant (lift available) is home to two chefs – he is from Calabria, while she is from Puglia. Together they create exciting, modern Mediterranean cuisine using ingredients from their native regions, including their signature dish – homemade spaghetti served with a delicious, well-balanced 'nduja, smoked ricotta and tomato ristretto sauce. Top-quality local ingredients take pride of place, as demonstrated by the Brogna mutton, which is raised on site, barbecued and served with an exqui
