A restaurant with a special atmosphere! Cosy, colourful and packed with art – a tastefully eclectic blend of styles and highly individual decorative details. In addition, the service is pleasingly laid-back and professional. Classic cuisine with Mediterranean influences is served in the form of a three- to eight-course set menu. To accompany it, choose from the nicely curated wine list, which has a particularly good selection from Switzerland and France. There is a set lunch menu Wed-Fri. In summer, it is pleasant to sit in the small garden behind the restaurant. Tip for anyone looking for a v

The journey to this idyllic little hamlet is well worth it, for Gregor Smolinsky has a special talent: his ability to strip things down to the bare essentials. The focus is squarely on the produce. His style of cooking is classic and clear-cut; nothing distracts from the superior quality of the ingredients. Take, for example, the thick and fleshy freshly caught John Dory, served with a grainy mustard sauce and Catalogna. Only a few components are used, and they are always brimming with intense flavours. Tip: Try the brasato ravioli or soufflé – they have almost cult status! It's no wonder that

€€
Considered the largest erratic boulder in the canton of Zurich, the Pflugstein is located just above this distinguished half-timbered house dating from 1750 and lends its name to this idyllic restaurant 550m above sea level. The interior comprises an attractive wood-panelled space and a room with a fireplace; outside, the terrace beneath the boughs of plane trees comes into its own in the warm seasons. The service team overseen by the charming Jeannine Meili also deserves a mention. The kitchen prepares classic, regional and seasonal dishes made from fresh ingredients – à la carte or as a set m

This restaurant is located right on Wollishofen harbour and boasts a magnificent view of the "Zürisee", as the locals call Lake Zurich. The kitchen team, led by David Klocksin, serve up punchy dishes. The four- to five-course surprise menu reflects this with pleasingly pared-down yet full-bodied creations, such as the vegetarian baked cauliflower with curry and peanut. However, the more "conventional" options, such as the Valais pike-perch or Zurich beef, are just as delectable. A vegetarian version of the set menu is also available. Feel free to add wine or alcohol-free pairings. This is a tr

The first floor of this 16C half-timbered building makes for an exceedingly pleasant setting. Each area has a cosy, rustic feel, plus there is a small conservatory overlooking the lake – not to mention the lovely terrace. The menu features traditionally inspired cuisine with seasonal touches, including classics such as Hereford beef entrecôte and fresh veal liver. Attentive and adept service, as well as wine recommendations are provided by the sommelier.

A real gem! The restaurant of the elegant Alex Lake Zurich hotel is laid out over two levels, right by Lake Zurich – the setting is modern and lively, with large windows affording unobstructed views of the water. It goes without saying that the terrace is also wonderful. Fine Mediterranean cooking is the order of the day, with an appealing set menu available at lunchtime.

As of July 2025, it has been possible to enjoy La Scarpetta's truly delicious and authentic Italian food in Zurich as well as in St Moritz. The appealing à la carte selection includes dishes such as carpaccio di gambero rosso and ossobucco & risotto allo zafferano. There is also a tempting lunch menu. The cosy interior sports beautiful wood panelling. In one of the two separate dining areas, there are also a few spots at the bar, on which an impressive espresso machine and a large wine cooler catch the eye. A pleasingly lively atmosphere reigns, and the service is friendly and relaxed. There i
