Guests consistently praise the prime Danube and vineyard location, spacious and spotlessly clean apartments with fully equipped kitchens, and exceptionally warm, helpful hosts. Minor notes include bringing own coffee/tea, occasional lack of private terraces or minor fixture wear, but overall satisfaction is extremely high.

A true institution in the Wachau Valley, this place continues to impress with its charm and, first and foremost, its quality standards. Chef-patron Thomas Dorfer has maintained consistently high standards for many years. His cooking is based on the classics and replete with contrasts and creative touches, including Mediterranean and Asian influences. A prime example of a dish showcasing depth and purity of flavour is the wonderfully succulent roasted guinea fowl breast from Domäne Wachter poultry farm; it is paired with an intensely aromatic glazed nectarine and a creamy salted lemon yogurt th

This beautiful inn in a 400-year-old wine-growing estate has been run by the Knoll family for over a century. Sepp and Josef – father and son – serve classic Austrian cuisine here, including dishes such as foam soup made with crayfish from the Danube or excellent veal and beef from the region – the creamy veal goulash and Tafelspitz (beef boiled in broth) are a must. And leave some room for the delicious apricot Buchteln (sweet yeast buns) or Topfenknödel (quark dumplings)! To wash it all down, there are wines from Weingut Emmerich Knoll, which is just a stone's throw away. The restaurant inte

This lovingly maintained 1912 estate has been in the same family for four generations. The restaurant is divided into two parts: a traditional dining room with a sense of history, and a bright, modern annexe with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lovely garden and its splendid terrace. The kitchen team rustles up fabulous Austrian dishes such as the classic pike dumplings or minced veal butter schnitzel, not to mention the delicious plum dumplings. The Jamek name is also renowned for exceptional Rieslings and Grüner Veltliners.

A centuries-old wine farm has been transformed into the beautiful Holzapfel winery estate, featuring a small boutique hotel, an inviting restaurant and a gorgeous terrace set within an arcaded courtyard. The kitchen team serves up dishes with a strong regional character that are distinguished by excellent craftsmanship and flavour. Opt for the set menu or order à la carte. The estate's own wines are available to pair with your meal. The front-of-house team is friendly, attentive and always on hand.

A pleasant atmosphere awaits you in this lovely inn in the middle of the village. The comfortable interior dotted with modern decorative touches feels friendly, and service is attentive. In summer, the pretty garden terrace is delightful. The delicious food is regional and seasonal, with options ranging from classics such as cordon bleu or Backhendl (Viennese breaded fried chicken) to the "Essenz:Menu", a four- to six-course set menu, from which you can also choose à la carte.

The location right by the Danube is reason enough to stop by. The unobstructed view of the water and the greenery all around make the terrace a popular spot. Large windows ensure that diners indoors can enjoy the scenery as well. This family-run restaurant stands out for its honest, traditional cuisine built on regional ingredients, with an emphasis on fresh fish from local farms. Alongside salmon trout, pike-perch, char and more, the menu features specialities such as fried blood sausage slices with potato salad and pumpkin seed oil.

This building has a long history. Built in 1320, it was originally part of a monastery – Stift St Florian. Today, it is home to a charming and elegant restaurant with a lovely vaulted ceiling. The kitchen serves a modern take on classic cuisine. In addition to two set menus with four to seven courses, there are daily specials. Standout dishes include "Irish rock oyster with a clear Bloody Mary and celery stick", sweetbreads with pimientos, chipotle and lime, and Wiener schnitzel with potato salad. Everything is prepared using select ingredients. To complement the food, there is a fantastic win

Upon arrival, you are greeted by a sensational backdrop – let your gaze linger on the Nigl family vineyard and the vine-covered slopes, with the castle ruins, Burgruine Senftenberg, looming above. In addition to the wine estate with its delightful courtyard, a hotel and a shop, there is a charming restaurant. Chef Bertram Nigl presents a menu featuring regional and French classics, such as "Grandma Nigl's traditional Waldviertel-style Grammelknödel (potato dumpling stuffed with greaves)" and "braised beef roulade with Schupfnudeln (potato dumplings), Brussels sprouts and carrots".
