La Rascasse

Mediterranean Cuisine

€€€

At the tip of the Giens peninsula, this hotel-restaurant, which sports a colourful, restored façade commands a knockout view of the sea and the Îles d’Or. In a warm, timeless setting, Sébastien Graize signs spot-on Mediterranean fare that pays tribute to local market gardeners from Vars and fishermen from Niel. The house signature is bouillabaisse, packed in flavour and aromas. The fashionably refurbished guestrooms are blissful, as is the saltwater pool carved out of the rock down by the shore.

Les Minots de la Garrigue

Mediterranean Cuisine

€€

Two brothers have transformed this shopfront, formerly a tobacco shop, on Place Clemenceau into a plant-filled eatery that exudes the cheer of the South of France, centred on a large open-air patio. In this bright setting decorated in blue, pink and orange, Martin (in the kitchen) and Léo (front of house) serve up fresh, unpretentious and flavoursome cuisine influenced by the market: Mediterranean bluefin tuna carpaccio; dentex steak, courgette gratin and herb oil; almond and fig tart. There are also a few vegetarian options. With a jovial welcome, relaxed atmosphere and very reasonable prices

La Pinède

Modern Cuisine

€€€

Patrons of this out-of-the-way hotel are collected from the village in a shuttle bus; the laidback restaurant of Le Mas du Langoustier is only open at lunchtime. The menu showcases the Mediterranean and Provençal dishes: pistou soup, "panier du pêcheur façon bourride", grilled fish and crayfish etc – to savour against a backdrop of Mediterranean plants and the sea: simply sit back, tuck in and enjoy the moment.

La Colombe

Traditional Cuisine

€€€

Sesame salmon tataki with a crunchy vegetable salad; turbot fillet, pan-fried chanterelles and a black garlic jus. With their generous, seriously Provençal cuisine, Pascal and Nadège Bonamy have elevated their restaurant at the foot of the Maurettes mountains to one of the best in the region.
