Gourmetrestaurant Tannenhof

regional · ★★ Michelin

Following stints in some of the world's finest kitchens – including the three-MICHELIN-starred The Table Kevin Fehling in Hamburg – Dennis Ilies has found his way to the Tyrolean Alps; specifically, to the exclusive boutique Hotel Tannenhof. Here, Alpine luxury extends far beyond the seven suites; the restaurant itself exudes style and sophistication, boasting magnificent views through large windows and a breathtaking terrace perched high above St Anton. The cuisine, too, is noteworthy: modern yet firmly rooted in classic culinary tradition, resulting in exciting compositions of the highest qu

Located in the quiet St Jakob district, the Jehle-Kathrein family's establishment is warm and welcoming. That goes for both the hotel, Gletscherblick, and the tastefully decorated, elegant little Alpine-style fine dining restaurant. Choose between the set menu of the day and the fine dining set menu, in which chef Paul Markovics presents a variety of flavours and interesting contrasts. He also places a strong emphasis on the region when it comes to his choice of ingredients. For example, he combines perfectly medium-rare fried and finely seasoned Tyrolean venison loin (of excellent quality!) w

Set within the car-free enclave of Oberlech, Burg Vital Resort is home to this stylish wood-panelled restaurant. In the small open kitchen, Sebastian Jakob (formerly of Schloss Ellmau) and his team create flavoursome dishes using outstanding ingredients and incorporating a judicious and intriguing Japanese twist. One example: wonderfully tender and succulent langoustine served with a mildly spicy cream of wasabi greens, delicately flavoured edamame, lightly smoked eel and an elegant, frothy shellfish sauce. A knowledgeable sommelier is on hand to guide you through the seemingly endless wine ce

"Alpine Soul – Japanese Spirit – Nordic Air" is the philosophy of the fine dining restaurant in the Ullrhaus designer hotel. This cosmopolitan approach is reflected in modern, creative dishes such as "essence of shellfish, king crab, taco, tomatillo" or "Miéral pigeon, beetroot, purple shiso, plum umeboshi", which are a true delight, thanks to remarkably precise craftsmanship and punchy flavours. Components are skilfully balanced, not to forget the first-class quality of the products, which are used extensively. The fantastic large-scale set menu is accompanied by a high-calibre wine selection

From the moment you arrive, service is of the highest standard here in the fine dining restaurant of the fantastic A-ROSA Ifen Hotel Kleinwalsertal! Then there is the fabulously chic interior design… and the cuisine by Sascha Kemmerer (who trained under Ortwin Adam, recipient of a MICHELIN star in 1978 in the original Ifen Hotel) and Hans-Jörg Frick, who share the leadership role in the kitchen. Their creative dishes win diners over with their outstanding craftsmanship, skilfully deployed contrasts and harmonious flavour combinations. With a predilection for regional ingredients, they also loo

As well as tasteful, individually designed guestrooms, Hotel Arlberg is home to this elegant restaurant, which is accessed via a separate entrance. Ornate details such as warm wood finishings, a partially painted ceiling, stylish upholstered armchairs and classic-style wall lamps create a wonderful atmosphere, which is complemented by experienced and attentive service. Then there is the Alpine-Mediterranean cuisine, which they dub "Monte e Mare". The tasting menu, comprising five to eight courses, also comes in a vegetarian version. Upscale furniture fashioned out of salvaged wood, comfortable designer chairs upholstered in lovely check fabrics, edelweiss-shaped lighting fixtures set into the ceiling, and pared-down, elegant tableware – this restaurant has a fresh and modern decor. But it isn't just the chic Alpine look that guests go in for. The cuisine conjured up by proprietor Peter A Strauss is equally inspiring. You will be treated to pleasingly stripped-down classic cuisine that takes inspiration in modern, creative trends. In the exclusive Rote Wand Gourmet Hotel – formerly a modest inn in Zug's old schoolhouse – guests are treated to a very special culinary experience. After an aperitif and a selection of appetisers in the little parlour downstairs, you proceed upstairs to a chic dining area in which warm wood meets sleek design; there you take a seat on one of the comfortable bar chairs arranged around a horseshoe counter. A special atmosphere reigns here, and this is due in no small part to the well-coordinated, charming and laid-back service team. Julian Stieger, who comes from Upper Austria, brings his high
