At Alte Baiz, an upscale setting with charming rustic-style overtones and Claudio Urru's modern-inspired cuisine await you. A lot of thought goes into his cooking, and his dishes are always on point in terms of flavour, regardless of whether you opt for the four- to seven-course set menu (you can also order dishes from these à la carte) or choose from the daily specials on the à la carte menu. There is also an interesting selection of dishes for two, such as veal chops, whole roast Kikok chicken (served in two courses) or Breton loup de mer (sea bass). This cosy rustic-style restaurant is housed in the venerable Ochsen Post. The menu features the traditional cuisines of Baden and Swabia, as well as internationally influenced dishes. Along with Maultaschen, Zwiebelrostbraten (fried beef and onions in gravy) and steaks, there are also less conventional options such as sour kidney or tripe soup. During the week, they offer a business lunch as well. Diners can also look forward to a delightful terrace, attentive service and a well-curated wine list that includes a number of rare gems. This lovely village inn serves dishes with classical foundations and modern inspirations. The seasons call the shots, and there is a preference for quality produce sourced locally or even grown in the restaurant's own garden. Led by the proprietress, the cordial and competent front-of-house team helps create the welcoming atmosphere. The terrace is delightful in summer. They also have their own distillery.

This chic and modern restaurant has found the perfect home within the pretty half-timbered building of the long-established Birkenfelder Hof. It is an ideal setting for "casual dining". The atmosphere is also suitably relaxed, the waitstaff are experienced and friendly, and the delicious seasonal modern cuisine, which draws on French, Mediterranean and regional influences, incorporates the occasional Asian touch. The successful synthesis of different culinary styles is evident in dishes such as "Breton monkfish, dashi beurre blanc, pak choi, Sardinian pasta, tomato and pine nut vinaigrette". C

The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, and the food is great – it's no wonder that people come back again and again. The menu features dishes from Alsace and Baden, with mouthwatering options such as "coq au vin à la chef", beef sirloin served with roasted onions and spaetzle, or Baden-style pike dumplings. They also do Flammkuchen. There is outdoor seating to the front of the building.
