Sollo

Creative, Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

€€€€

In this stylish restaurant at the Reserva del Higuerón resort, you’ll find an open kitchen and superb views of the coast, which provide a delightful backdrop for innovative cuisine that is resolutely focused on aquaponic production as an alternative production system for the future, combining the rearing of freshwater fish in its R&D laboratory with the growing of vegetables in a symbiotic environment (90% of Sollo’s ingredients are home produced). Here, Diego Gallegos, the so-called “caviar chef”, creates a tasting menu (Caminho) with a sustainable focus, featuring modern, balanced dishes bas

Charolais

Traditional Cuisine

€€

Located in the centre of Fuengirola, but just a few metres from the beach, Charolais is a restaurant serving traditional cuisine with a nod to the Basque country on a menu featuring tapas, “raciones” and dishes for sharing. In fact, you’ll find two adjoining and interconnecting restaurants (Charolais and Charolais Tapas) here, as well as a pleasant terrace. Standout options include the Huelva shrimp “al ajillo”, the tartare of avocado and Carabinero prawns, as well any of its meat or fish dishes.

Lila

Fusion

€€

Working under that name, a small nod to the chef's mother and grandmother, we find Omar Ben Hammou, a Peruvian-born chef who, after discovering his vocation, has not stopped travelling and working all over the world. Here, in this cosy contemporary bistro we find a truly different cuisine, which, starting from a clear Japanese base, acquires a certain personality by adding different notes of fusion with other cultures. Top dishes? Try their wild-caught fish ceviche or the roasted cauliflower, served with kombu, yellow chilli, yuzu kosho and Riviera herbs.
