From the moment you arrive, service is of the highest standard here in the fine dining restaurant of the fantastic A-ROSA Ifen Hotel Kleinwalsertal! Then there is the fabulously chic interior design… and the cuisine by Sascha Kemmerer (who trained under Ortwin Adam, recipient of a MICHELIN star in 1978 in the original Ifen Hotel) and Hans-Jörg Frick, who share the leadership role in the kitchen. Their creative dishes win diners over with their outstanding craftsmanship, skilfully deployed contrasts and harmonious flavour combinations. With a predilection for regional ingredients, they also loo

Tastefully done out in a modern take on Alpine style, this restaurant provides both excellent food and friendly service. The menu features an appealing selection of seasonal dishes, mostly made from locally sourced produce. We highly recommend the grey cattle goulash with Walser Knöpfle (similar to spaetzle).

Diners immediately feel at home here! This is thanks to both the cosy atmosphere and the outstanding cuisine turned out by owner Jeremias Riezler. He uses top-notch seasonal and regional produce, and even rears pigs himself. Select – predominantly organic – ingredients are showcased in a multi-course set menu, the name of which translates as "Culinary Mountain Adventure". Dishes such as fried Walser veal sweetbreads with cranberry aioli demonstrate a distinctive culinary style. The chef presents his dishes himself and talks diners through the idea behind them. In an original touch, he also han

In the casino building in the centre of Riezlern, a seasoned duo bring dedication to the table. Charming and competent restaurant manager Lillian Roth looks after diners; meanwhile chef-patron Sascha Kemmerer (known from Kilian Stuba in A-ROSA Ifen Hotel Kleinwalsertal in Hirschegg) is in charge of the kitchen. His dishes draw on French classics and impress with their craftsmanship, flavour and the quality of the ingredients underpinning them. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly: modern bistro style, Alpine details from bygone days, such as tiled stoves and wood-panelled ceilings, and "Cul

Housed in Hotel Birkenhöhe, this restaurant enjoys a tranquil location and is run by two generations of the Bantel family (Matthias and Felix), who serve up flavoursome modern-inspired dishes with an emphasis on locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Matthias – the father – bakes the delicious bread. Diners are also treated to friendly, attentive service and an excellent wine selection that includes some rare finds from Italy and France. Warm wood panelling and a tiled stove make for a cosy atmosphere. Tip: Request table no 32 for a stunning view of the Widderstein and Bärenkopf mountains. A sm

The Alpenhof Jäger hotel's restaurant may be small but what it lacks in size it makes up for in atmosphere! With plenty of wood, a tiled stove and pretty decorations, the cosy and homely Humbachstube is completely in keeping with the rustic charm of the 380-year-old regional-style building in which it is located. In the kitchen, Florian Jäger and his father Martin cook with market produce, creating dishes based on the classic repertoire, such as sirloin of local mountain lamb roasted with aromatics, fresh spinach leaves and potato and Parmesan gnocchi. The wine list is all about Austria's own

Upscale furniture fashioned out of salvaged wood, comfortable designer chairs upholstered in lovely check fabrics, edelweiss-shaped lighting fixtures set into the ceiling, and pared-down, elegant tableware – this restaurant has a fresh and modern decor. But it isn't just the chic Alpine look that guests go in for. The cuisine conjured up by proprietor Peter A Strauss is equally inspiring. You will be treated to pleasingly stripped-down classic cuisine that takes inspiration in modern, creative trends. Dishes such as scallop with tomato, carrot, passion fruit and asparagus, or saddle of venison

Perched in a fantastic high-altitude location, Haller's Geniesserhotel boasts lovely, comfortable guestrooms and a spacious spa, as well as this appealing fine dining restaurant with a welcoming Alpine atmosphere. At lunchtime, a selection of sophisticated à la carte dishes is on offer; in the evening, diners take their pick from the set menu. The tempting options range from classics like Wiener schnitzel to creations such as tail of rump, celeriac two ways, curd cheese and amaranth pastry pockets. The wine list with a focus on Austria is also enticing. And don't miss out on the terrace with i
