It offers great comfort and surprises by virtue of its location in the heart of the Alentejo countryside, in the splendid, modern hotel L’AND Vineyards Relais & Châteaux. The dining experience features creative cuisine with traditional foundations, drawing inspiration from the chef's personal experiences and memories. The menu, mostly enjoyed by the hotel’s guests, is presented in an à la carte format and through two tasting menus: Expedição ("Expedition") in 8 moments and Caminhos (“Paths”) served in 12 moments, both inspired by Portuguese travels and the flavours of its former colonies. It is in the tranquil streets and historic setting of Montemor‑o‑Novo that you find PODA. This restaurant occupies a former agricultural warehouse, fully restored, and presents an elegant ambience that preserves the rustic details of its past life. Chef João Narigueta and sommelier Miguel Dominguinhos, long‑time friends, joined forces in this project to create a space where traditional Alentejo cuisine is revived and presented with decidedly pronounced flavours. The offering includes a tasting menu (5 courses) and a concise à la carte menu, which offers, among the options, the soup of the day

Haute cuisine in the heart of the Alentejo? This restaurant is located in the Paço do Morgado de Oliveira, a 14th-century building restored in full respect of its original structure and, in turn, set within the Fitapreta winery, surrounded by vineyards and meadows where cattle graze. Here, in an intimate yet sophisticated setting, the connection between the culinary world and that of viticulture is constant. Upon arrival, you are guided on an immersive journey while the story of the house is told, with aperitifs and stops both on the terrace and in the kitchen, a space that preserves the charm

This restaurant surprises from its original façade, in industrial grey with cast‑steel finishes, through to its gastronomic proposal. Located close to the Doca de Pesca de Setúbal (Setúbal fishing wharf), this establishment avoids the predictable and presents bold combinations with harmonious blends of flavours that result in a pitch‑perfect experience on the palate. The indispensable choco (cuttlefish), a symbol of the city, is reinvented in a delicate Cannoli de choco (cuttlefish cannoli) with garlic emulsion, roe and cured tuna, as well as other delicacies that equally extol the Atlantic, s

This space, formerly a stable for horses, has been converted into a modern, elegant restaurant that has managed to maintain vestiges of its past. Following time spent working in England, chef Bruno Contreras decided to create this unique restaurant, where the focus is on contemporary cooking with an international influence and the use of regional ingredients, with dishes designed for sharing. Cavalariça’s signature dishes include cured meat croquettes with clam mayonnaise and mustard, and grilled brioche with a chicken liver parfait and orange chutney.

It adds the gastronomic touch to Sublime Comporta, a luxury hotel (awarded a MICHELIN Key) that delights with its location in the heart of nature, in a lush pine forest just a few kilometres from the beach. Here, as they put it, they celebrate “the fusion of tradition and innovation”, drawing on international flavours while still adapting them to the character and tastes of Portuguese cuisine. In its spacious, tranquil dining room, where the kitchen can be seen through glass windows, you’re presented with a menu that exalts Portuguese cooking in perfect harmony with European classics and Latin

At Évora’s northern exit, in an attractive rehabilitated building that once housed a roof-tile factory, this is one of those restaurants that, at first glance alone, invites you to step through its doors. The proposal, under the guidance of the award-winning chef Miguel Rocha Vieira, clearly revolves around Alentejo cuisine, reinterpreting it from a contemporary perspective based on the latest techniques. On the menu, complemented by an executive menu (weekdays), you will find dishes such as Bacalhau com grão (salt-cod with chickpeas), chouriço and estufadinho de línguas e samos (slow-stewed t
