Arnolfo
Creative, Country cooking · ★★ Michelin
€€€€
With sharp lines created by the use of iron and glass, this modern building is especially designed to allow guests to admire the views from wherever they’re sitting. To the rear of the dining room, the large open-view kitchen framed by a superb yellow Siena marble wall is home to chef Gaetano Trovato (Mentor Chef Award 2024) and his team. Although there are three tasting menus available, one of which is vegetarian, any of the courses can also be chosen à la carte style. We could say so much about Arnolfo’s cuisine, but we’ll limit ourselves to mentioning the bread (which has been central to th

Innocenti Wine Experiences
Contemporary, Meats and Seafood
€€
Innocenti Wine is a venue with a dual identity: on one side, a wine shop boasting an ever-evolving collection of over 1,200 labels spanning Italy’s finest wine regions and international terroirs; on the other, a restaurant where contemporary cuisine finds expression through three tasting menus or à la carte selections. A place designed for those who approach wine as exploration and the table as its natural complement.

Il Castello del Nero, the spectacular 12C residence that is home to this restaurant, stands in a magical location that includes many of the attractions that make Tuscany such a special place to visit – a breathtaking view from its summer terrace, an elegant dining room full of history, and top-quality ingredients such as extra-virgin olive oil and wine (the attractive wine cellar boasts a generous selection of the latter). However, the main attraction here is the excellent cuisine made by friendly chef Di Pirro, which is technical, creative and at the same time full of flavour, and always beau

"In a skilfully refurbished farmhouse nestled in the hills surrounding San Gimignano, Da Pode restaurant welcomes guests into cosy dining rooms featuring stone and wood, and onto a large terrace where, when the weather is warm, diners can enjoy their meal as they admire the Tuscan countryside. The cuisine is authentic and deeply rooted in tradition, with recipes handed down through four generations. Fresh pasta is prepared daily on the premises, the meat is of the highest quality, and the desserts are worthy of attention too: the soft, light apple cake with custard is a delicious finale that s

Futura Osteria

Along the Via Francigena, just a few steps from Monteriggioni, stands the small medieval hamlet of Abbadia Isola, with its splendid Romanesque church and ancient buildings that once formed the monastery and its dependencies. Futura Osteria occupies the rooms that were once the monks’ cellars, where they stored their wines: here you can enjoy flavourful, Tuscan-inspired cuisine, simple and profoundly seasonal. The format offers three fixed-price tasting menus, with portions that are always generous; many of the vegetables come from the restaurant’s own kitchen garden. In addition to the menus,

Il Borgo di Cianciano is much more than just an osteria: it's also a farm, wine bar, and scattered hotel. The name “Osteria 1126” refers to the year of its founding; in the kitchen, a young couple offers simple, seasonal Tuscan dishes. Don't miss the pappa al pomodoro and the Chianti Classico Riserva, which is elegant and persistent. At the entrance of the borgo, a small aging cellar offers a brief but fascinating visit.

The two traditional rooms at this restaurant are perfectly in keeping with the medieval atmosphere of the beautifully preserved village of San Donato. The cuisine is obviously Tuscan in style, delighting guests with its exquisite home-made pasta expertly prepared by young chef Matteo. At certain times of the year, special dishes such as game make an appearance on the menu – the wild boar stew is not to be missed! Among the desserts, make sure you try the caramel panna cotta which is one of the best in the region. The small wine list includes a few labels from famous wineries.

Tavola di Guido
Tuscan

The menu crafted by Guido, a chef attentive to seasonality and estate products, is a tribute to the land. The extra virgin olive oil comes from Poggibonsi or Castellina, both from the same farm. Among the signature dishes is the beetroot risotto with pancetta, crème fraîche, and nasturtium – but only when in season! The wine cellar features Tuscan, Italian, and international labels, with a special treat to try: Amphoreum, a home-produced orange wine made from Trebbiano, known for its salinity and medium body.
