La Table de l'Ours

Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

€€€€

This fine dining establishment is part of a luxurious hotel, which feels like a plush chalet. On the edge of the famous ski run, Face de Bellevarde, the restaurant is chic and elegant with a wealth of wood, exposed stone and mirrors. Passionate about his craft, conscientious chef Antoine Gras shows the utmost respect for the ingredients. These he showcases in flavoursome dishes that don't mess around. The combinations are spot on: just-seared langoustine, julienne vegetables, chilled vinaigrette with grated carrots; whitefish from Lake Geneva, sorrel, silky gourd purée with juniper berries. Th

Ursus

Creative · ★ Michelin

€€€€

Housed within one of the resort’s top hotels, this restaurant loves nature, hence its name that pays tribute to the last remaining species of brown bear in the Alps. The interior resembles a forest with slim tree trunks separating the tables into little thickets, a ceiling covered with a canvas depicting foliage and magnificent tables carved from walnut wood. Chef Clément Bouvier, former second to Jean-François Piège, signs creative Alpine cuisine with a rustic edge, mixing freshwater fish or game with aromatic herbs and plants picked in the mountains. This mountainside restaurant, the brainchild of the Bouvier family (of Les Suites, Ursus, Panoramic), is depicted by generous dishes in which country produce takes pride of place. Warm, welcoming and a fine selection of reasonably - priced wines.

Le Panoramic

Traditional Cuisine, Grills

€€€€

Accessed by a funicular railway, this high-altitude restaurant (3 032m no less!) promises a unique experience. The kitchen team, enthusiastically and skilfully led by Clément Bouvier (chef of the nearby starred Ursus), rolls out authentic high-flying dishes with a live fire edge. In an inviting interior done out in wood, staff in traditional costume serve a wholesome Alpine lineup, starring choice cuts to share (rib of beef, pork shoulder, sweetbread and whole turbot). All of which is paired with a stonking wine bin boasting over 1,000 references. Change of scenery guaranteed and a breathtakin
