This restaurant, occupying a small rural hotel in the Benasque valley, not far from the downhill ski slopes of Aramón-Cerler, is nestled is a truly enchanting natural setting. The couple in charge, Ainhoa Lozano and David Beltrán (with chef Víctor Manuel Ovalles in the kitchen), show consummate professionalism and enthusiasm gained through working with master chef Martín Berasategui. The dining room, with its open fireplace and fine views, is the perfect setting in which to savour intensely flavoured creative cuisine. The superb menus here, all of which offer really impressive value for money,

It is surprising to find a restaurant of this level in a small town but Callizo offers a perfect gastronomic experience that will delight the senses and provide an opportunity to discover the wonderful landscapes and flavours of the Sobrarbe area. The restaurant, housed in a large, centrally located stone property with a surprisingly modern decor, plays an integral role in the dining experience, which involves a staged journey through the house to discover the true culinary essence of this region, albeit with a nod to other parts of the world. The dishes served here on two tasting menus (Tierr

This restaurant, located in a village in the Benasque valley, has been in business since 1984 and is run by the third generation of the family – it is now overseen by the niece and nephew of founder Pilarín Ferrer with Iris Jordán at the helm in the kitchen and her brother Bruno in charge of the dining room and wine cellar. Under their guidance, the restaurant has had a change of direction with a focus on contemporary cuisine that seeks inspiration from tradition through the culinary influences from the valley and a more modern perspective. If the idea of a fine-dining break appeals to you, this restaurant in the Aragonese Pyrenees is a interesting and surprising option, despite its somewhat remote location on the edge of the spectacular Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido. Located along the banks of the Cinca and Yaga rivers, it features a dining room crowned by a large stone vaulted ceiling that dates back to 1593. Communication with guests is key for the duo of Rubén Coronas and Cristina Romero (the former in the kitchen, the latter front of house) who show real passion for their work and a true sense of gratitude which

If you enjoy eating high-quality meat, you won’t want to pass up this opportunity. The restaurant occupies an attractive Alpine-style building, however its most interesting feature is that the same family runs the restaurant as well as a farm that breeds native cattle. Here, you can savour delicious homemade stews, wild mushrooms in season, as well as exquisite grilled meats produced from its own cattle, and game. Its veal is famous for having the perfect level of fat between its muscle fibres.

With a name that translates as “the black sheep”, this gastronomic restaurant is gradually winning over a larger flock of clientele! The young couple at the helm, Rafa Bautista in the kitchen and María Vegue overseeing the dining room, put their life and soul into every sitting, serving modern dishes with a traditional flavour that showcase the ingredients and produce of the Somontano de Barbastro area but with a constant nod to the south of the country as a reminder of the chef’s roots. Their menu focuses exclusively on a carefully curated tasting menu: Rebaño Gastronómico (five courses, slig

Carpaccio of tea-smoked Pyrenean venison, creamy mountain-style rice, wild mushrooms and quail, organic baby goat ribs and cheese from Taüll all feature on the menu at this restaurant with an attractive stone façade that blends in harmoniously with the other buildings on this main road. In the small dining room with a pleasant and welcoming ambience, enjoy cuisine that is steeped in Pyrenean tradition, albeit with a few modern and Asian touches added to the culinary mix. Options here include the à la carte designed for sharing, plus a surprise tasting menu.

Perched high up in the small ski resort of Saint-Lary-Soulan, this pretty little chalet is a haven of comfort and fine dining: exposed stone walls, wood-burning stove and large picture windows overlooking the church steeple and a distinctive Pyrenean skyline. The chef, who has worked in some of the finest restaurants of the Basque Country, sources most of his ingredients from Southwest France (including local vegetables, fish from Crioure fish auction, farm-reared veal). His speciality is Souraïde pigeon cooked two ways: roast fillet and confit leg, finished on the barbecue for extra flavour a
