Guests consistently praised the excellent location within walking distance of the beach and old town, the responsive host, complimentary secure parking, and the clean, spacious apartment with two bathrooms and full amenities. Minor drawbacks include the second “bedroom” being separated from the living room only by blinds or a partition, limited natural light in interior rooms, and some older or noisy appliances. José Carlos García
Creative, Andalusian · ★ Michelin

This restaurant, overlooking the luxury yachts in the Muelle Uno dock, stands out for its contemporary dining space that is both elegant and informal. Here, cutting-edge trends and industrial design combine with exquisite vertical gardens and a chillout zone in a space that still remains completely in tune with the style and bright feel of the Mediterranean. Chef José Carlos García, a native of this delightful city, does not offer an à la carte option, instead focusing exclusively on two extensive tasting menus (one features three more courses than the other) that are constantly evolving. Boasting a prime location on the 4th floor of the Palacio de la Aduana, an 18th-century neoclassical building that has been completely renovated and now also serves as the headquarters of the Museum of Malaga, this restaurant is dedicated to an interesting contemporary cuisine that combines creativity with some South American touches or culinary traits that evoke notes of Peru, Mexico, Argentina. etc. This is due to the fact that chef Emi Schobert, who says he draws his inspiration ‘from the sea, the mountains and local produce’, is a native of Buenos Aires and has twice represented his countr

Kaleja

The name of this restaurant is particularly apt (Kaleja is the Sephardic word for “alley”) given its location in Málaga’s Jewish quarter, just a few steps from the city’s Picasso Museum. The first thing that will strike you as you walk through the door is the subtle aroma of smoke, a key feature that sets this restaurant apart. Here, chef Dani Carnero has gone for a modern take on dishes of old, working with the heat of his wood-fired grill to create what he calls “candle cooking” – a style of cuisine that revives tastes and flavours from his childhood, in many cases connected to traditional A

Palodú
Contemporary, Traditional Cuisine · ★ Michelin

This attractive restaurant, just a few steps from the legendary Atarazanas market, is one of those restaurants you’ll love visiting thanks to its constant desire to improve. The couple in charge of the kitchen (Cristina Cánovas and Diego Aguilar), both of whom have trained in leading restaurants, have used the initials of their first names to come up with the concept of “Dual Cuisine” (this sense of duality can also be seen in Palodú’s dining rooms – one, with an open kitchen, decorated in black tones, the other dominated by the colour white). Their cooking is focused on two tasting menus call

It is located in the central neighbourhood known as Perchel Sur, near the Málaga-María Zambrano train station, and reflects the dream of a young pair of chefs (Cristian Fernández and Pablo Zamudio) who have brought the final degree project they jointly presented at the Escuela de Hostelería de Morón de la Frontera to fruition. They offer a small menu with tapas and dishes designed for sharing, with a modern style and a strong traditional base. What to order? Don't miss the Canelón de gallina vieja or the curious Spanish tortilla, made in the Japanese omurice style and served with wasabi mayonn

This restaurant boasts an outstanding location on the slopes of Gibralfaro hill, once home to the La Coracha district, from where its terrace enjoys one of the best views of both the city and the Mediterranean. The chef at the helm in the kitchen, Pablo Rutllant, showcase a culinary concept that combines a global outlook and local cuisine in his small plates because, in his eyes, Málaga is a city “teeming with foreign influence” that has adopted gastronomic ideas from everywhere. The à la carte, featuring dishes such as black corm empanada with squid, leeks with Payoyo cheese, and mango with y

Located on the ground floor of the MS Maestranza hotel, conveniently located between the bullring and the ever-busy Muelle Uno. You'll find a contemporary menu, with a tapas option, which revisits dishes from the local gastronomy, such as its reinterpretation of the Ensalada Malagueña or the wild sea bass in miso and camomile gazpachuelo. Tip: Don't miss the cocktail that gives the restaurant its name, made with gin, red vermouth, banana liqueur, lime and angostura (with this cocktail, in 1967, the founder of the hotel chain was Spanish champion and runner-up in the World Cocktail Championship

Aire is a restaurant with plenty of soul thanks to its setting in a century-old property close to the Playa de La Malagueta and, above all, the couple behind this project, with Pepo Frade in charge of the kitchen and María Schaller running everything front of house. Their attractive cuisine approaches Andalucian recipes and flavours from a contemporary perspective, with some dishes available in half-portions. They also offer an unusual section entitled “Sin Cubiertos” (literally “without cutlery”) as well as a GastroMenú (a six-course exploration of their à la carte).
