The Table Kevin Fehling

Creative, International · ★★★ Michelin

In his set menu (dubbed "Das Tor zur Welt" – "Gateway to the World"), Kevin Fehling draws on a wide range of influences, be they Asian, Middle Eastern or South American, and is also fond of combining them in a fusion with classically French-based cuisine. The dishes are characterised by a wealth of beautifully complementary flavours, as well as deftly integrated contrasts and impressive technical precision, not to mention top-notch ingredients. These qualities are exemplified in the outstanding, firm-fleshed scallop carpaccio served at a pleasant room temperature with delicate pieces of celery

What an experience! Here on the third floor of an unassuming factory building, in a loft-style space with an industrial chic design, the open kitchen takes centre stage. Working at a fantastic Molteni stove, set to either 100°C or 200°C – hence the name – the chefs deliver a creative surprise menu that is aligned with the seasons. With a passion and style that is all his own, Thomas Imbusch brings out the seasonal flavours through fermentation and smoking, for example, and turns out honest dishes that remain close to nature. Respect for the produce is the ethos here, with the emphasis on mindf

The elegant Atlantic Restaurant is entirely in keeping with the Hanseatic flair of the luxe Hotel Atlantic by the banks of the River Alster. Using excellent ingredients, chef Fokke Mick proposes the set menu, "Identité", alongside its vegetarian counterpart, "Flora" – in both cases, diners choose from four to seven courses. In addition, there is a three-course menu for two people with the restaurant's classics, such as lobster bisque and whole sole. The appealing classic decor provides a perfectly fitting setting. Last but not least, the front-of-house team is experienced, extremely cordial an

One of Hamburg's classic hotels, the legendary Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, with its view of the Inner Alster Lake, is home to this stylish, chic restaurant. The top-notch cuisine is inextricably linked with Christoph Rüffer, who has been the chef here for over 20 years. His dishes adhere to a clear idea, retaining their identity despite considerable technicality. He incorporates meaningful contrasts with minimal fuss. Each elegant course of the perfectly composed menu is beautifully balanced. There are also several dishes to swap out or add on. The mainstay of the cuisine is top-notch ingredients

Almost a restaurant within a restaurant. On a mezzanine with a limited number of tables and a bird's-eye view of the open kitchen – practically directly above 100/200 Kitchen – owner Thomas Alfons Imbusch presents his second culinary concept: "Old school, reimagined". From the menu, diners order dishes that are deeply rooted in regional cuisine, made from select ingredients. The reinterpreted classics include, for example, beef pâté en croûte, sauce gribiche and pickled vegetables, or lobster Thermidor. Thanks to the pure a la carte offer, you enjoy maximum freedom of choice. The interior desi

Come out of the lift on the seventh floor of the imposing The Fontenay hotel and you will find yourself in an airy, light-filled space. The bold interior design in elegant white is upscale and luxurious but still feels casual. The view over the city and the Outer Alster is simply sensational! Julian Stowasser's unique cooking style shines through in his modern seven-course set menu. He skilfully blends premium ingredients with an elegant restraint, as seen in the impeccably fresh, beautifully fragrant langoustine from the Faroe Islands, served with silky sour cream and a vibrant piel de sapo m

André Stolle's fine dining restaurant boasts a lovely location in one of the city's oldest streets, in a neighbourhood oozing Hanseatic charm. Inside, meanwhile, the compact space has a pleasingly laid-back and intimate feel to it. In his "Hamburg Renaissance" set menu, he puts a creative modern spin on traditional North German cuisine. For example, "Fischfrikadelle oder Bremer" is a crispy, wafer-thin potato tartlet filled with tender yellowtail mackerel and topped with a delicately spiced remoulade. The set menu is available in a five- or six-course format – and you can order a signature dis

A brilliant combination of restaurant and bar! Their "modern, market-fresh cuisine" is served in the form of creative dishes, such as smoked sardine and razor clams from the Dutch coast with grilled peppers, capers and pickled coriander seeds. We recommend opting for the surprise menu, but there is also an à la carte selection that includes bar snacks – it is well worth trying their own creations from the cocktail list. Good to know: Alcohol-free beverage pairings are available for the set menu. A pleasantly lively and fun atmosphere reigns in this chic restaurant. The name is derived from the
