The now famous red door ushers you into this temple of Italian cuisine. Once you cross the threshold, stairs lead up to the first floor, where pink walls and a fresco by Francesco Clemente welcome you, as do the friendly front-of-house staff. From here on, the focus is on chef Enrico Crippa's very personal cuisine, presented in three tasting menus (a fourth, shorter menu is available at lunchtime only): one linked closely to the vegetable gardens and the seasons, another intimately connected to the local area, and the last taking you on a journey through Italy and beyond. In the Barbaresco hills, in a characteristic building dating back to 1931 that used to be a nursery school, the large dining room is the stage for a magnificent performance that unfolds over the hills through the glass walls. You can enjoy it even more if you take a few minutes between courses to step out onto the terrace and admire the view which, on clear days, stretches all the way to the Alps. The culinary creations of Maurilio Garola and Marco Lombardo take you on a journey of flavours with refined tasting menus and a rich à la carte menu featuring succulent meat dishes and fresh fish. Th

Just a few kilometers from town, yet already deep in the magic of the hills – and what hills! From here, the gaze stretches across a 360‑degree panorama of some of the area’s most captivating vineyards, their neat rows chasing one another into an unforgettable tableau, made all the more spectacular in autumn. Within the elegant dining rooms, classic in style, the cuisine draws inspiration from seasonality and local traditions, interpreted with skill and passion by a chef with solid foundations. The tasting menu, which can be composed and personalized from the à la carte, allows guests to explo

A real gourmet inn which serves traditional Piedmontese dishes made from excellent ingredients alongside top-quality meats cooked on the barbecue grill. An elegant ambience with a deliberately retro feel, which is beautifully maintained and has plenty of charm.

Manuel Bouchard’s cuisine impressed our inspectors thanks to striking features such as his minimalist approach and the use of just a few well-chosen ingredients. Traditional recipes, such as plin pasta and Fassona beef, feature on the menu alongside more alternative, imaginative dishes (including fresh- and saltwater fish). This elegant restaurant is located on the first floor of a building in the old town, just a stone’s throw from the medieval tower. A warm welcome and an excellent wine list complete the picture.

Named after the birthday of chef Flavio Costa’s twin daughters, 21.9 reflects both his Ligurian origins and his deep ties to Piedmont. Set within a wine estate whose cellar dates back to the 15th century, with sweeping views over vineyards and rolling hills, the restaurant offers a creative cuisine at the crossroads of land and sea, marrying Piedmontese recipes and ingredients with those of Liguria, while also embracing more contemporary influences. In season, a menu dedicated to game is also available.

A breath of immortality hovers over this restaurant, where great Piedmontese cuisine finds one of its finest expressions thanks to the Cordero family. Elide at the stoves, her husband Enrico and son Giampiero in the dining room – the latter a profound wine connoisseur and guardian of an extraordinary, ever-growing cellar – carry forward with passion a venue taken over by Giampiero’s grandparents in 1956. Here, tradition takes center stage with hearty, flavor-rich dishes that never tire: from bread agnolotti filled with anchovy and a hint of thyme to the classic braised cheek with caramelized f

Chef Samuele Di Murro presents a proposal structured around three tasting menus: one rooted in tradition, one more creative and contemporary, and a third – “a mano libera”, or freestyle – that gives full rein to the inspiration of the moment. The dishes are, however, also available à la carte for a more flexible experience. The restaurant is set within Casa Nicolini, an elegant hotel property nestled in a tranquil and panoramic position. Through the dining room’s broad picture windows, the gaze opens across the surrounding hills, while in the warmer months the terrace plays host to the bar and
