A few kilometers from Orvieto, after a series of winding roads in the village of Morrano Nuovo, an old 1980s sign will guide you to the restaurant Da Gregorio. The wine and spirits selection is particularly appealing – as an example, the Orvieto Classico Superiore Doc “Vendemmia Tardiva” is the perfect pairing for your dessert.

Boasting the attractive ambience of a typical Italian trattoria, La Palomba has been run by the Cinti family since 1965 and is now in the hands of the third generation. The menu features Umbrian specialities including delicious home-made umbrichelli pasta served with various sauces.

This restaurant occupying an elegant villa in a panoramic location with views of Todi and the surrounding countryside serves modern cuisine with its roots in Umbrian tradition. The extra-virgin olive oil comes from directly from the estate, as does some of the wine; there’s also an interesting selection of champagnes. Our inspector recommends the roast suckling pig accompanied by rosemary-flavoured potatoes, as well as the hazelnut cream, yoghurt sorbet and warm chocolate foam dessert. Quiet, comfortable guestrooms complete the picture.
