In this pleasantly laid-back restaurant overlooking the village, the Hausmann/Köhli husband-and-wife team propose a really fun dining experience! The chef-patron cooks up delectable dishes that are delightfully down-to-earth: drawing inspiration from the region, they are big on flavour, with options including, for example, leek and bacon ravioli with fresh morels, or pork steak with Meaux mustard, mashed potatoes and vegetables. Nicely curated wine list and highly attentive service courtesy of the lady of the house, whose natural charm shines through. Be sure to bag a table on the delightfully

What a wonderful, endearing place! This charming 19C farmhouse is a true idyll that is perfectly at home in this rural village location – it's well worth the trip out here! The cosy interior and pergola simply make you feel right at home: comfortable, yet stylish and elegant, lovingly decorated with attention to detail. The absolute highlight in summer is the fantastic terrace surrounded by old trees and a view of the countryside! Kurt Mösching's kitchen delivers modernised classics – these are dishes that are sophisticated in terms of flavours and technique and revolve around the excellent in

The pretty centuries-old house fits perfectly into a charming location in the heart of the old town. Make the most of the fine weather with an aperitif on the terrace on the medieval square or in the 12C vaulted cellar. Afterwards, host and chef Manuel Zaugg's five- or six-course tasting menu is served in the cosy, modern little restaurant. A nice idea: The menu is enclosed in an envelope, so you can decide whether you want to open it or be surprised. Made with excellent ingredients, the seasonal dishes are modern and creative. Local influences are skilfully combined with interesting Asian tou

This is a rather grand establishment located just outside Riedholz. A truly splendid historical property houses the exquisitely elegant and tastefully designed fine dining restaurant Le feu, with the garden and courtyard outside being a draw in themselves. Chef-patron Jörg Slaschek proposes a sophisticated modern-classical set menu, but there is also an à la carte selection. It goes without saying that the Bavarian-born chef uses only select produce. A well-curated selection of European wines makes for the perfect accompaniment to your meal. Overnight accommodation is also available: There are

This restaurant in the middle of the old town is not only steeped in history, it is also a treat for epicureans. Top-notch, down-to-earth cooking, staff who go the extra mile and a buzzing atmosphere make for a perfect dining experience. While Tamara Bader heads up the service team with effortless charm, her husband Stefan whips us delectable dishes rooted in classic tradition. Think pan-fried sweetbreads with mashed potato, spring vegetables and a morel sauce. House classics such as the cordon bleu are also in high demand. The impressive wine list is dedicated to Swiss, French and Italian lab

An attractive blend of urban cool and historical ambiance is the backdrop here and the exposed old brickwork certainly adds to the effect! On regular evenings, the kitchen serves up regionally inspired dishes with an international twist, either as a three- to five-course set menu or à la carte. Classics include, for example, hand-cut Irish beef fillet tartare. Thursday evenings are dedicated to Japanese fusion cuisine. More limited options at lunchtime. Attentive, charming and adept service. Thanks to the beautiful location in the Old Town, right by the Aare River, tables on the waterfront ter

The stylish restaurant of the tasteful and historical La Couronne hotel not only has a unique atmosphere but also promises exquisite French and Swiss-inspired cuisine served by a friendly and attentive front-of-house team. The location in the old town, nestled beside Kathedrale St Ursen, is a draw in itself; the terrace in front of the hotel makes for a delightful spot in which to "see and be seen" – especially during a romantic sunset. The wine list comprises some 150 moderately priced labels and includes a decent selection of half bottles. The fantastic wine bar is ideal for a nightcap. Smal

Set in the heart of the peaceful village of Sonceboz, this establishment is a culinary landmark in what is known as the Jura Arc and throughout Switzerland. The restaurant’s success is largely due to chef Jean-Marc Soldati, at the helm for many years now. Tradition is a serious business for this alumnus of Crissier, where he worked alongside Fredy Girardet and Philippe Rochat. Three surprise menus unveil a pedigree score, as spot on as it is suave, and drawn mainly from local and French ingredients and from the chef's own kitchen garden. The wine list features a selection of regional, Swiss an
