Guests highly praise the excellent location near the beach, quiet surroundings, and direct forest paths. Apartments are consistently described as modern, spotlessly clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with friendly host service. The main drawbacks involve poor bathroom drainage, lack of air conditioning and ventilation leading to cool or damp conditions, and missing small amenities like coffee makers or bath mats. Overall, the experience is highly rated and well-recommended.

Creative, Contemporary · ★★ Michelin

€€€€

This is the gourmet restaurant of the iconic Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, the undisputed emblem of hospitality in Versilia. On the ground floor, an elegant contemporary-styled dining area unfolds, extending into an exclusive wing adorned with bespoke art and furniture. Talented chef Giuseppe Mancino—of Campanian origin—melds traditions with Tuscan ingredients in his dishes, reinventing them with flair and creativity, along with options from other regions. The choices oscillate between three tasting menus: a vegetarian one, another devoted to the chef’s classics, and lastly, the longer and

Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2026, the timeless Romano continues to serve top-quality fish and seafood, occasionally updated yet always maintaining the traditions which have made it one of Versilia’s culinary institutions. Although this long-established restaurant’s philosophy has not changed over the years, current chef Nicola Gronchi should be applauded for adding a hint of contemporary flavour and technical expertise to the cuisine, bringing it in line with the times, while still retaining everything that this restaurant does best, namely serving fish of the highest quality (there ar

Seafood, Traditional Cuisine

€€€

Buoyed by a long tradition that has made it a true institution of the city over the years, this historic venue overlooking the tourist harbour continues to stand as a point of reference for seafood cookery. Today the selection of fish no longer takes place at a display buffet, yet the menu – broad and well-constructed – speaks with precision to the quality of the produce and the variety of what is on offer. Crustaceans, deep-water fish and catch of varying size are handled with respect and expertise, giving rise to dishes capable of conveying genuine Mediterranean emotion. Among the preparatio

Situated in central Viareggio near the town’s shipyards, MaMe occupies a long, narrow space that is reminiscent of Oriental restaurants with its long bench running alongside one wall and small bistro-style tables. This informal yet beautifully kept dining room is the backdrop for cuisine with interesting technical details such as the home-made mayonnaise served with the highly recommended steamed fish dish, and the delicious sourdough loaf which is freshly baked and served warm.
