One of the hottest tickets in town, it’s a big, bold, blingy space complete with colourful furnishings and an open kitchen, at the heart of which is the Vulcano Gres Grill, where the dancing flames add not just flavour but also to the atmosphere. Riva’s tagline is ‘Where the southern sea meets the northern shore’, and this can immediately be seen on the plate, with top-notch local produce from the land and sea taking on vibrant Mediterranean colours and flavours – a great example is the pike-perch cutlet with green pea purée and bouillabaisse sauce. The room itself also pops, with its bright, blingy style, while the friendly team add a welcoming touch. The lunch menu is shorter and simpler, with the options at dinner becoming more extensive in number and more ambitious in style.
