Trattoria da Marino

€€

A village trattoria with a long history, it offers unpretentious surroundings with little in the way of adornment, yet it is the cooking that provides the true reason to make the journey: robust, generous and deeply Tuscan. The menu encompasses nearly all of the great regional classics – pappa al pomodoro, pici, ricotta gnudi, tripe and lampredotto meatballs, rabbit cooked in a terracotta pot, and the ever-present fiorentina – dishes that faithfully narrate the local traditions. Not to be missed is the tasting menu, which represents exceptional value for money. In the dining room, Edoardo Inno

Osteria Il Maialetto

Next to the historic family butcher’s shop lies the vibrant tavern, which is approaching its 100th anniversary without losing any of its surprisingly youthful spirit. People come here to enjoy authentic, straightforward Tuscan cuisine: from bruschetta and crostini to pappa al pomodoro and ribollita, via platters of charcuterie and Florentine steak – which, naturally, will bump up the bill a little. The warm hospitality that characterises the place makes the experience even more enjoyable.
