Agli Amici

fine_dining · ★★ Michelin

€€€€

Serving signature cuisine, Agli Amici is one of the leading restaurants in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a border region of diverse cultural influences that is teeming with top-quality ingredients. Many of these are showcased on two tasting menus (one of which is vegetarian), as well as a small à la carte selection of “piatti del cuore” featuring the restaurant’s classic favourites. Owner-chef Emanuele Scarello makes full use of the array of ingredients from the region’s pastureland, mountains and vegetable gardens, which he transforms into culinary works of art. His interesting use of Godia potatoes

San Michele

Modern Cuisine

€€

Situated next to the ruins of the old castle and the small church of San Michele, this 13C building, thought to have once housed a guardroom, is now home to a small restaurant serving regional, seasonal cuisine with a modern twist. During the week, the restaurant offers a lunchtime menu of top-quality snacks (the Venetian “cicchetti”), as well as a few “primi” and desserts.

Antica Trattoria da Miculan

Behind the small building that houses the bustling village bar, popular with locals, lies the true soul of the restaurant: a dining room with classic charm, featuring a fireplace that spreads warmth and the scent of wood in winter. The chef-owner carefully selects Friulian and seasonal ingredients, turning them into dishes that showcase the local area. The menu alternates between fish dishes and authentic flavours like those that characterise rich and comforting tagliatelle with duck ragout or golden “frico” served with steaming polenta. Snails à la bourguignonne are always on the menu, releas

Al Grop

Traditional Cuisine, Classic Cuisine

€€

Beneath the bell tower of a pretty village, Al Grop welcomes guests into a classic setting brightened by original touches and the warmth of a crackling fireplace. The menu reflects the local flavours, with grilled meats, and asparagus in season, taking centre stage. There's a grand finale for those with a sweet tooth: the dessert trolley. And for those who want to stay a little longer, the guesthouse offers cosy, well-appointed rooms.

La Torre

Regional Cuisine, Modern Cuisine

€€

Situated on the ground floor of Spilimbergo’s beautiful medieval castle, this restaurant has equally beautiful interiors which welcome guests into a romantic atmosphere, steeped in history but accompanied by every contemporary comfort. For a really special dinner for two, we highly recommend booking the intimate alcove table. The cuisine is modern and beautifully presented with a special focus on meat, although the fish dishes are every bit as delicious.

Osteria da Afro

Regional Cuisine, Country cooking

€€

An expertly run family restaurant not far from the historic centre. Warm atmosphere in the two dining rooms (especially the one with the fireplace), where the daily specials are marked on a blackboard. A real gem of restaurant, which also has a few charming guestrooms furnished in fir and cherry wood.

Vitello d'Oro

Seafood, Friulian

€€€

In the heart of the historic center, this restaurant traces its roots to 1849 and intertwines its story with that of the Sabinot family, guardians of tradition since the 1960s. The interiors surprise with sober, contemporary design that dialogs with the memory of the place. Don’t be misled by the name: fish takes center stage, with iconic dishes such as the spaghetto enveloped in bottarga and clams, while seasonal vegetables add freshness and color. Those who prefer meat will also find thoughtfully crafted options.

Hostaria alla Tavernetta

Regional Cuisine, Traditional Cuisine

€€

A venue that welcomes warmly, thanks to a lively, family atmosphere. A lit fireplace fills the air with the scent of burning wood, while wooden furnishings and linen runners blend with background music to create a relaxing setting. At the table, authentic flavors: from Friulian frico with Montasio and potatoes to plum gnocchi cloaked in clarified butter and cinnamon, to succulent goose leg. Mediterranean forays also appear, such as the tuna tataki with anchovy sauce and bottarga. For those who wish, a carefully crafted vegan menu is also available.
