Here, the magic starts with the lakeside setting: right by Wörthersee, the magnificent terrace affords gorgeous sunsets on balmy summer evenings. The interior has an upscale feel, with modern and elegant decor incorporating light, warm tones. In the kitchen, chef-patron Hubert Wallner draws inspiration from the Alpine region and gives his creativity free rein, exemplified in his "Germknödel 2.0" – a delicate yet bold foie gras terrine crowned with an aromatic yeast espuma and served with a scoop of Reindling ice cream. There are two set menus comprising five to nine "Stationen" – individual di

With a wonderful courtyard terrace that truly feels like a garden, this restaurant in the Seehotel Hubertushof, located on the lake promenade, is aptly named! But if the weather is not cooperating, you can also dine inside, at a table in the tasteful, modern interior. The cuisine is made with local and organic ingredients and with a strong emphasis on seasonality. In addition to fresh fish – from the lake or the surrounding region – other recommended dishes include organic beetroot, Weidenwald, St Veit, organic sheep's cheese, pistachio, balsamic caviar, organic hemp oil, or Marillenknödel: ap

An absolute highlight here is the lakeside location. The trendy, elegantly designed restaurant flows seamlessly onto the terrace – with every table affording a view of the water. Creatively inspired Slow Food cuisine is presented in an appealing à la carte selection that marries regional produce with international accents. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The predominantly Austrian wine list is supplemented by Old World and a few New World picks, alongside an array of sparkling wines. This restaurant occupies a former abbey forge, a stone's throw from the shores of Lake Ossiach and the 11C abbey and church. The classically styled dining space has a lovely cross-vaulted ceiling, and the service is provided by an exceedingly friendly team. Florian Satran represents the third generation of the family to run the kitchen, and the cooking is done where the forge's hearth once stood. The menu is deeply rooted in the region – fish is sourced from a farm practising responsible aquaculture, and the quality is outstanding. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the lake and mountains
