Guidoristorante

Piedmontese, Contemporary · ★ Michelin

€€€

It was 1961 when Lidia and Guido Alciati opened their restaurant, giving life to a revolution that would forever change the face of Italian gastronomy. With dedication and sacrifice, they marked an epochal turning point: they were among the first to understand the value of the territory, passionately seeking out small niches of gastronomic excellence. Lidia, at the stove, enhanced these products with cooking that was immediate and respectful of the raw materials, while Guido oversaw exceptional service and an extraordinary cellar. Today their legacy lives on and is renewed in the sumptuous hal

Creative, Contemporary · ★★★ Michelin

This young yet already established Piedmontese chef, of part-Calabrian heritage, offers a creative and personal cuisine deeply anchored in its raw materials, particularly vegetables, the majority of which are sourced from his own kitchen gardens and greenhouses, managed according to biodynamic principles.Three tasting menus are available, from which individual dishes may also be chosen à la carte: De Rerum, comprising ten courses, presents the most complete and current expression of the chef’s vision; MAD 100% Natura places the plant world at the very centre, with animal protein in a discreet

L'Argaj

Creative, Piedmontese

€€

In the Piedmontese dialect, “Argaj” translates as “satisfaction” and never has a restaurant name seemed more appropriate! In a simple, colourful and welcoming dining room with windows looking out at the hills, all the attention is on cuisine which is skilfully balanced between classic local dishes and more creative options. Choose between the à la carte and tasting menus, all accompanied by an excellent array of wines.

This small modern restaurant situated near Perno castle is also open at lunchtime (by prior reservation only).

Repubblica di Perno

Piedmontese, Traditional Cuisine

€€

In the very heart of gastronomic Langa, where a reservation is an absolute necessity, lies a small and carefully restored restaurant brought to life by the passion of the couple who run it: she in the dining room, he at the stove. In the finest Piedmontese tradition, the entrance opens directly onto the open kitchen, a prelude to the intimate first floor, which accommodates just five tables. The offering takes the form of a daily menu that is rigorously regional, enriched by dishes that celebrate seasonality and local tradition. Among the most pleasing preparations, the cardoon tart with quail

Alessandro Mecca al Castello di Grinzane Cavour

Modern Cuisine, Traditional Cuisine

€€€

There’s no shortage of classic Piedmontese ingredients (such as anchovies, peppers and veal) on the menu at this restaurant, where traditional recipes are reinterpreted with a personalised and contemporary touch. Dishes from outside the region, including various fish-based options, also feature, while the restaurant aims to avoid food waste by using every single part of its ingredients where possible. The location in a splendid castle with 11C origins, once the home of Camillo Benso, count of Cavour, adds to the appeal.
