When you hear ‘Never stop believing’, you might begin to think of football; but here it is the motivational motto that chef Diego Fernández lives by! In this surprising restaurant, located in a somewhat disruptive chalet-style with a large garden surrounded by farmland, you will find contemporary urban interior design and a menu that exudes personality, as it moves away from Asturian flavours to reveal a fusion cuisine built around Indian, Mexican and Southeast Asian flavours. The dishes, which are balanced, elegant and based on domestic produce, are presented in three tasting menus (Corto, Di

If you’re on the lookout for a restaurant that will provide plenty of interesting surprises, it’s well worth heading to Ferpel, where the simple approach to local ingredients results in strong individual flavours in every dish. Local chef Elio Fernández is fully committed to his rural surroundings and his family, the two pillars upon which his work is based, creating contemporary cooking with its roots in the soil of the Asturias region. The experience starts with appetisers in the pastry section, where bread is baked every morning, and continues in the kitchen, where you’re served by the owne

This restaurant, whose main attributes are its typical authenticity and charm, will come as a pleasant surprise in this small Asturian village, where we recommend that you park your car at the bottom of the village and walk up. Behind the attractive terrace at the entrance, popular with locals for a beer or aperitif, is a rustic-contemporary interior where everything has been designed to please guests. Chef Xune Andrade returned to his native area to showcase its natural bounty in his cooking, which is contemporary in style and based around two tasting menus (Paseo por el Monte and Ruta por el

This attractive family-run restaurant, featuring a pleasantly surprising rustic-style dining room overlooking a charming landscaped terrace, is run in a friendly spirit and with great professionalism by chef Jairo López (who is in charge of both the kitchen and dining room). His traditional Asturian cooking, including dishes such as broad beans with cod cheek, spider crab cake, and the loin of sea bream with cider, always champions ingredients sourced from the local area. Although many of the dishes here are for two people, it is also possible to order individual portions.

On the banks of the river Nalón, approximately 4 miles southwest of Oviedo, this colourful house occupies the premises of what was once L'Alezna, a restaurant that already shone with a MICHELIN Star between 2004 and 2008. Chef Pedro Martino, who has returned to his origins and has given his own name to the renovated business, seeks to bring Asturias to our palates, which is why every day, along with the appetising menu, he presents a menu called Orígenes Tradición (Origins Tradition) and another, more extensive and modern, called Orígenes Degustación (Origins Tasting) (the latter is a sequence

If you’re not familiar with Puerto de Vega it is well worth a visit as it is one of the prettiest and most authentic towns along the entire Cantabrian coast. Situated in a pedestrianised section of the old quarter, this pleasantly simple restaurant run by a friendly married couple has lots of personality. Mary, the chef, who often comes out of the kitchen to talk to her guests, focuses on dishes that showcase the finest local products and which always follow traditional recipes, albeit with a modern touch. Choose between the limited à la carte, featuring several fish options priced by weight (

Located inside the boutique hotel of the same name, this is one of those family-run restaurants where it feels like time does not pass. And it’s no wonder, it’s one of those places where the sea is brought right to your table! It offers a fairly extensive à la carte, with various specialities from the Asturian recipe book and, above all, the best local fish and seafood local seafood (baby squid, hake, monkfish, virrey...). Fun fact: They have their own boat, called ‘La Felisina’, which goes out to fish daily from the port of Cudillero so that diners can enjoy the freshest products.
