Das garbo zum Löwen
Farm to table, Classic French · ★ Michelin
€€€€
In the restaurant of Zum Löwen hotel, in the centre of the village, the attractive decor embodies a combination of rural charm and elegance, with warm wood finishings, a tiled stove, pretty fabrics and high-quality tableware. In the kitchen, Marcel Kazda cooks up ambitious cuisine with a classic foundation and seasonal influences – the quality of the produce is excellent. The considered, sophisticated and intensely flavoursome dishes come in the form of two set menus comprising four to seven courses: "Inspiration Menu à la Kazda" and the more wallet-friendly "My Baden Culinary Footprint", feat

Modern Cuisine, Creative · ★★ Michelin
€€€€
Thorsten Bender's creative cuisine certainly explains the popularity of this little restaurant nestled on a quiet residential street. The chef's distinctive style shines through in his technically accomplished, clearly structured dishes, into which he judiciously weaves Asian flavours. The power and intensity of the flavours are as impressive as the degree of finesse and refreshing notes. Top-notch ingredients take centre stage – think Icelandic ikejime char confit in ox marrow fat with roasted leek, leek ash, white Alba truffle and verjus sauce. The upscale interior has a chic, modern feel. S

Not only does this 18C hotel offer a comfortable stay (opt for one of the newer guestrooms), it is also a popular modern take on a rural restaurant. Diners are waited on by a friendly front-of-house team in an attractive modern setting with a rustic touch. The food is flavoursome, fresh and seasonal. The main courses are also available in smaller portions. In summer, make a beeline for the gorgeous terrace to the rear of the building.

Bistro Margarete

€€
With this lovely bistro, Thorsten Bender offers an alternative to sein, his restaurant right next door. The place has a stylish and lively feel; the terrace in the courtyard makes for an irresistibly romantic setting in summer. The commitment that the owners bring to their work is palpable – both in the delicious regional cuisine, which includes classic and modern dishes, and the inviting and pleasingly laid-back service under the direction of the lady of the house. Good food is accompanied by wines at prices that won't break the bank. At lunch, the reasonably priced set menu draws a crowd. Ti

Zum Lamm

This inn is everything you could wish for! Your cordial hosts, Ulrike and Manfred Kreger, put their heart and soul into running this popular restaurant. He is the chef and specialises in regional cuisine – one of his specialities is pike-perch from the Rhine, which is practically on the doorstep! Another equally delicious option is the herb-crusted rack of lamb with mint sauce, grilled watermelon and gnocchi. In summer, the tables in the garden to the rear of the building are in high demand. Smart guestrooms available for overnight stays.
