On the fifth floor of the Hilton Rijeka Costabella, as soon as you step out of the lift you are immediately captivated by a spectacular view: the Adriatic, the coastline and the wild island of Cres stand out unfiltered thanks to the long glass wall that encompasses the entire room, with its contemporary, minimalist design. Deni Srdoč has moved up to executive chef of the group, and resident chef Gabriela Filca leads the crew with confidence and talent. The gastronomic offering continues seamlessly in the modern tale of, both marine and inland, Croatian flavours through a unique tasting menu av

Directly overlooking the small harbour of one of Kvarner's most romantic villages, from its small terrace this venue enjoys a splendid view: small boats, beach and sea compose a relaxing and evocative picture. As is natural, the cuisine is predominantly seafood, simple and tasty. What could be better than to start with a carpaccio of the catch of the day and then follow it up with scampi alla busara, a preparation that apparently originated in these very areas? Prices are generally fair, except, understandably, for the finest shellfish.

The first thing that strikes you is undoubtedly the view: your gaze is lost over the beautiful, peaceful Gulf of Quarnero, framed by a small private olive grove from which an excellent extra virgin olive oil is produced, served with delicious homemade rustic bread. The service is professional, and the wine list, while not extensive, is well-curated, with labels from all over Croatia. To start, we recommend a Tomac Blanc de Noirs, a fresh and characterful sparkling wine. The cuisine is creative and seasonal, and choosing between the 4- or 7-course menu will guide you through the world of Marin,

In a charming fishing village, this cosy restaurant brings the sea right to your plate... and just steps away from your table! The real gem is the veranda overlooking the water: once seated, you are lulled by the sound of the waves and enchanted by a picture-postcard view. The patron, Stiven Vunić, devotes himself with great skill to seafood cuisine in which the very fresh and fragrant product is the real star. The recipes are simple but refined: sometimes a modern twist appears, but more often the focus is on the reassuring comfort of well-executed tradition. Raw dishes, pastas, catch of the

Just a stone’s throw from one of the most beautiful beaches in the region, this restaurant serves fresh fish, scampi and shellfish caught that very day and prepared in simple, traditional dishes that allow the full flavour of the fish and seafood to shine through (dishes are announced at your table). In summer, don’t miss the relaxing and sunny panoramic terrace. The Jurdan family have been running this restaurant since 1996 – almost thirty years of enthusiastic and reliable service.

Housed in a beautiful 19C residence with a garden offering stunning sea views, Villa Ariston is one of the region’s unmissable gastronomic experiences. The cuisine maintains a subtle balance between tradition, classic flavours and the creativity which has given the restaurant its fine reputation. The menu features numerous fish dishes (the scampi-filled ravioli served with a scampi and mussel bisque are delicious), as well as local specialities such as lamb from nearby Cres island.

A gem just steps away from the famous Ulica Korzo, in the heart of the city’s pedestrian area. Here, everything revolves around a carefully curated selection of both Croatian and international wines, while Chef Željko offers Mediterranean cuisine with influences from neighboring regions. Worth trying, for example, is the Black Slavonian pig accompanied by carrot variations or the stuffed pasta dishes, which are always creative and well-executed. The menu is constantly evolving, but there are always interesting options to satisfy different tastes. The atmosphere is intimate and informal, enhanc
