Found on the first floor of the hotel La Mira de Gredos, this restaurant is furnished with a large windowed room, to marvel at the Sierra de Gredos as you eat. Out of the kitchen comes an updated traditional cuisine, with a choice of à la carte service and one tasting menu. Dishes not to be missed? Try the popular Patatas revolconas, with paprika from La Vera and pork crackling, or the very tasty white bean stew from El Barco with its traditional sacramentos (cured meats and sausages).

At Don Fadrique, there’s a commonsense approach to the cuisine that makes its way from the kitchen to the table. This is showcased on an à la carte (including half portions), with an updated take on traditional cooking and a focus on the seasons, and two tasting menus: “Sabor de la Memoria”, with its homage to tradition and top-quality ingredients (including grilled fish and meat), and Instinto, a more personal and modern option which gives free rein to the chef’s creativity (prior booking required). The chef, who has worked in several leading restaurants and has a strong focus on presentation, showcases his talents via a traditionally inspired menu which is particularly designed for sharing. It features modern, fusion-inspired influences that take the palate on a journey around the world through dishes such as tomato “torrija” with smoked sardine, veal cheeks with papaya etc.
