You'll need to look up the way to this old country inn located in the middle of the Bavarian Forest. But it's well worth heading off the beaten path for the excellent food, which takes the form of two set menus, dubbed "Classic" and "Inspiration". Chef-patron Michael Klaus Ammon showcases precise craftsmanship, bold flavours and a knack for balancing aromas and textures in dishes such as his variations on duck liver – consisting of fried liver, terrine and ice cream – with the fruity kick of pineapple, dark chocolate and toasted brioche with truffle. His dishes draw on modern and classical influences; sometimes complex, sometimes more pared down, they always involve extremely accurate craftsmanship and high-quality ingredients. In an inviting, traditional-looking setting, you are treated to charming and attentive service – this is the domain of the chef's

Here at the Naturhotel Rebling, situated at an altitude of 610m, you can expect not only spectacular views of the region (with visibility up to 100km on a clear day), but also delicious cuisine imbued with seasonal flavours. Katharina and Erich Schwingshackl invite you to experience HEIMATKÜCHE, an appealing alternative to fine dining restaurant ESSKULTUR. Katharina manages the restaurant floor, providing friendly and attentive service, Erich cooks up dishes such as South Tyrolean Schlutzkrapfen (stuffed pasta) with brown hay-milk butter, or game ragout with organic egg spaetzle.
